We are looking for an AI/ML geologist or geoscience data scientist to help analyze drill cuttings data and integrate it with well logs, LWD/MWD data, and other large subsurface datasets.
The project focuses on building workflows that can extract geological and petrophysical insights from drill cuttings images, XRF/geochemical data, lithology descriptions, drilling parameters, and wireline/LWD logs.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and organize drill cuttings datasets, including images, geochemistry, and depth-based metadata.
Integrate cuttings data with wireline logs, LWD/MWD, drilling data, and geological interpretations.
Develop AI/ML workflows for lithology classification, facies prediction, log reconstruction, and petrophysical property prediction.
Identify data quality issues, depth-matching problems, missing data, and normalization needs.
Build clear scripts, notebooks, or pipelines that can be reused on multiple wells.
Provide technical recommendations on model design, validation, and future data requirements.
Ideal background:
Geology, petrophysics, geoscience, or petroleum engineering background.
Experience with Python, machine learning, data analytics, and subsurface datasets.
Familiarity with well logs, LWD/MWD, drilling data, cuttings, XRF, hyperspectral, or image-based geological analysis.
Experience with large datasets and depth-based data alignment is preferred.
