Shopify Full Stack Engineer Needed for App Onboarding, Theme Compatibility & UX Refinement

We’re looking for a Shopify-focused Full Stack Engineer to help refine and improve a Shopify-integrated app that helps shoppers find exact color shades across products. The app is already in MVP/testing stage, and we need support with launch readiness, merchant onboarding, theme compatibility, debugging, and UX polish. The biggest focus is improving the onboarding flow for new merchants. Right now, too much of the setup and testing process is manual, so we want someone who can help make the install/setup process smoother, reduce friction, and make the app easier to validate across different Shopify stores. Main responsibilities: - Improve Shopify app onboarding and installation flow - Help with OAuth/token setup and merchant store connection issues - Debug product/store sync issues between the app and Shopify stores - Test and fix compatibility across different Shopify themes - Refine frontend UX for color search, swatches, and shade selection - Implement Figma-based UI updates when needed - Work with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, Shopify Liquid, GraphQL, and APIs - Use Linux/Bash scripting where helpful for onboarding or repeatable testing - Help make the app more stable, secure, and ready for merchant pilots Ideal experience: - Strong Shopify app or Shopify theme integration experience - React and TypeScript/JavaScript experience - Comfortable with Shopify Liquid and GraphQL - Experience debugging apps across multiple merchant themes - Good understanding of OAuth, API integrations, and store data sync - Comfortable working in Linux and writing basic Bash scripts - Able to improve UX details and not just write backend logic Nice to have: - Experience with color search, swatches, product filters, or visual shopping tools - Experience preparing Shopify apps for launch or pilot merchant testing - Accessibility knowledge around color selection and visual UI states We’re looking for someone who can jump into an existing app, understand the current architecture, identify onboarding and compatibility issues, and help us move toward a smoother merchant launch.
