I’m looking for an Avada/WP developer to bring my Avada site up to date. My site, http://trans-americas.com is a non-commercial travel blog that has existed since 2006. Originally, I manually built posts in HTML, I converted the site to WordPress in 2009, and I rebuilt the site using Avada in 2017. I am not a coder, and I built this site back in the early days of Avada v5. I updated the child theme when v6 came out, and I never updated it with v7, I’m still using my v6 child with the current v7 version of Avada. Most of the tweaking to make my Avada site look like my original site was done in the child theme (PHP) and some Custom CSS via guessing, trial & error, along with some help from the Avada Users Group on FB. A real coder has never touched the site and I'm thinking it's time to change that. The site consists of a number of pages and over 1,200 blog posts, with more posts added monthly. I build all posts via the old-fashioned WP interface, generally not the Avada builder. However, I would like to start using the Avada interface more to take advantage of creating templates and some of the features found there. While keeping my current look and feel, I’m looking for someone who can migrate my custom CSS and PHP customization in my v6 child theme into native options where possible, and recreate the header/footer using the Layout Builder, as well as any other elements that can now be done in the Layout Builder. Additionally, the site has less-than-stellar speed scores, even taking into account the fact it’s image-heavy since I am a photographer. I would like some optimization done to the myriad of cache and speed settings I have available between Avada, Siteground, WP Rocket, Cloudflare and AMP. I also need some of the CSS & JS to be optimized so that the things that need to load first can do so quickly, and the remaining code left for the bottom of the page. I am a travel jounalist/photographer, and the site is a non-commercial passion project, wanting to share the tons of travel information we gather that doesn't get published elsewhere--what sort-of pays the bills. There isn't a big budget for this project, and I don't imagine this project would require one. However, the site really needs to be updated and modernized, and I don't have the 3 weeks that it would take me via trial & error to do it IMproperly, when an Avada coder can do in a day or two. Thanks
