AI and Automation Engineer for Trucking Operations

We operate two US trucking carriers. We move freight for brokers, settle drivers every week, and run our operations on Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, and a handful of connected tools. A large part of our system is already built and running. We need someone who can maintain it, extend it, and automate the manual work that still eats our team's day. This is not a research role. This is a build and ship role. Responsibilies: Keep our existing automations running and fix them when they break. Automate the repetitive work our team still does by hand, including document filing, data entry, report building, and status checks. Build simple dashboards our leadership actually opens. Connect the systems we already pay for so data moves without a person copying it. Build AI agents that handle defined tasks with clear rules, review steps, and a way to catch mistakes. Document everything you build in plain English so a non technical owner can understand it. Requirements: Strong Google Apps Script and JavaScript experience. Advanced Google Sheets, including complex formulas and structured data. Real experience building with large language model APIs, not just using chat tools. Experience automating work where no API exists, using browser automation or scraping. Ability to write clear documentation for a non technical reader. Reliable overlap with US Eastern business hours.
