This is a high-complexity, full-stack AI engineering project combining document indexing, semantic search, OCR, and financial data integration. ABOUT THIS AI DOCUMENT SEARCH PROJECT: We're building a production-ready AI document search system that will index 524GB of documents and provide intelligent search capabilities using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). This is not a simple chatbot — it's an enterprise AI system for document indexing, semantic search, and financial data reconciliation. The organization has thousands of documents (PDFs, Word documents, scanned images, handwritten documents) scattered across network drives. Staff currently spend 15+ hours per week searching for information manually across multiple systems and files. Your job: Build an AI-powered document search system that lets staff ask questions in plain English and get accurate answers with source citations from their document archive. Then integrate financial data from three systems (Portfol, QuickBooks, spreadsheets) for automated reconciliation and reporting. This is a two-phase, 14-week engagement. High complexity. High impact.
