Analytics Engineer — SQL, BigQuery & Data Quality

Frontiers Market builds camera-based cattle monitoring and analytics tools. We’re looking for a hands-on analytics engineer to improve the accuracy and reliability of the data behind our customer and internal dashboards. Our data combines operational records with machine-learning outputs. We need someone who can trace reported metrics back to their sources, investigate discrepancies, clarify calculation rules, and implement checks that prevent recurring issues. **What you’ll do** * Audit SQL queries, transformations, and dashboard data sources. * Reconcile dashboard totals, tables, and charts against underlying records. * Investigate duplicate records, missing or delayed data, changing group membership, date windows, and historical reporting. * Work with our engineering and ML teams to define metrics and document exceptions. * Implement automated checks for data freshness, completeness, and consistency. * Explain findings clearly and take issues through resolution and verification. **Your initial project** Audit one priority report, document its data flow and calculation rules, identify discrepancies, resolve an agreed issue, and add repeatable checks to catch similar problems. **Required experience** * Strong SQL and hands-on Google BigQuery experience. * Experience maintaining production reporting or analytics pipelines. * Confidence investigating joins, aggregation, and historical data. * Python for analysis and automation. * Clear written communication and proactive follow-through. Agriculture experience is helpful but not required.
