Backend Python Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure) Remote (USA)

Job Description We are looking for an experienced Backend Python Engineer with strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and event-driven data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable backend solutions, working with Kafka, GraphQL APIs, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Experience in the healthcare domain is essential, particularly working with protected health information (PHI), HIPAA compliance, and HL7 ADT message formats. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python. Build and manage cloud-based infrastructure using AWS. Develop event-driven data pipelines and distributed systems using Kafka. Work with Databricks or equivalent data processing platforms. Design and implement GraphQL APIs and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Manage cloud infrastructure using Pulumi and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. Ensure secure handling of healthcare data in compliance with PHI and HIPAA requirements. Work with HL7 ADT message formats and healthcare data integration workflows. Implement and maintain Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with engineering and data teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. Required Technical Skills (Must-Have) Strong hands-on experience in Backend Python Development. AWS Cloud Infrastructure and Databricks (or equivalent). Apache Kafka and event-driven data pipelines. GraphQL APIs and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). Pulumi and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Distributed Systems and Infrastructure Engineering. Healthcare data domain experience, including PHI/HIPAA compliance. Knowledge of HL7 ADT message formats. Git and CI/CD. Good-to-Have Skills FHIR and healthcare interoperability.
