Data Engineer for HCP Email PLD Reporting & Customer.io Integration

We are a healthcare media company bringing our high-volume email marketing and sponsored email deployment capabilities in-house. We are implementing Customer.io as our email platform and are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Marketing Data Engineer to help us build the data infrastructure required to produce reliable individual level reporting. We want to create a reliable pipeline that connects: Customer.io email events → internal recipient records → Identifier → campaign metadata → client-ready data files Customer.io will handle email deployment and raw message tracking. We need the data infrastructure and reporting layer around it. The selected freelancer will help architect and implement a system capable of ingesting Customer.io event data, matching activity back to individual recipients and NPIs, applying reporting rules, and generating standardized PLD exports. Data we expect to capture At the recipient/deployment level, we need to track data including: Sent Delivered Email impression Open Unique open Click Unique click Bounce Unsubscribe And more.. Key responsibilities The freelancer will be expected to: Configure or work with Customer.io Reporting Webhooks/API data Capture recipient-level email events from Customer.io Design an appropriate database/data model for storing message and engagement events Connect Customer.io events to our internal recipient IDs Join recipient records to email addresses and NPI numbers Customer.io experience Direct Customer.io experience is preferred but not mandatory if you have strong experience building event pipelines from platforms such as: Customer.io SendGrid Mailgun Braze Iterable Salesforce Marketing Cloud Klaviyo Similar ESP/marketing automation platforms
