Hands-On BOM / MRP Manufacturing Specialist – MRPeasy

We are a U.S.-based manufacturer of low-volume, configurable industrial equipment looking for an experienced, hands-on BOM/MRP specialist to help us improve our manufacturing information and planning system. Our primary problem is simple: we need to get the right parts to production at the right time. Today, our BOMs are incomplete, some of our products are still evolving, drawings and revisions are being brought under better control, and we are not fully utilizing our MRPeasy system. We know how we want our manufacturing process to work. We need an experienced person who can help us translate that into properly structured BOMs, item data, revisions, and MRP processes. This is a hands-on role. We are NOT looking for a traditional consultant who will assess our business, give us a recommended model, and then ask our employees to implement it. We want someone who is willing to get into MRPeasy with us and actually do the work. Initial responsibilities will include: Review our existing BOM and item structure. Work with us to establish practical BOM standards. Build and clean up multi-level manufacturing BOMs. Improve item master data and make/buy structure. Establish proper relationships between drawings, revisions, parts, and BOMs. Configure MRPeasy so material requirements provide useful information to Purchasing and Production. Help structure configurable products and subassemblies. Identify and correct bad or missing MRP data. Document the process so our team can maintain it going forward. Train internal team members as the system develops. We plan to start with one representative product family, get the system working correctly, and then use that structure as the model for our other products. Ideal Experience Strong manufacturing BOM and MRP experience is required. Experience with MRPeasy is strongly preferred, but we would consider someone with exceptional hands-on manufacturing BOM/MRP experience who can quickly learn MRPeasy. Experience with any of the following would be especially valuable: Low-volume manufacturing Engineer-to-order or configure-to-order products Industrial machinery or heavy equipment Multi-level BOMs and subassemblies Engineering drawing and revision control Product configuration Manufacturing routings Material planning and purchasing Engineering-to-production release processes What We Are Looking For We want a player-coach: someone experienced enough to help us design the right structure but willing to personally build it alongside our team. This will initially be a fractional/part-time engagement with the potential to become an ongoing relationship. When responding, please answer these three questions: What manufacturing BOM/MRP systems have you personally built, cleaned up, or maintained? What hands-on experience do you have with MRPeasy? Give us an example of a manufacturer where BOMs were incomplete or unreliable and Purchasing/Production could not trust MRP. What did you personally do to fix it? Please do not send a generic ERP consulting proposal. We are specifically looking for someone with hands-on manufacturing BOM/MRP experience.
