Magento & WordPress Developer / Service Provider

We are an established distributor currently migrating our e-commerce operations to Magento 2 and are looking for an experienced Magento developer or service provider to provide ongoing development, maintenance, and technical support. In addition to Magento, we also operate a WordPress website and would prefer to work with someone who can support both platforms. This is a hands-on role. We are looking for someone who will work directly with our team, understand our business and systems, and become a reliable long-term technical partner—not someone working through multiple layers of account managers. What You'll Be Working On Supporting and completing our migration to Magento 2 Upgrading and maintaining Magento on a current supported version Resolving extension, theme, and compatibility issues Applying Magento security patches and keeping PHP, Composer dependencies, and third-party extensions up to date Troubleshooting and fixing issues with checkout, cart, search, customer accounts, product pages, pricing, and other e-commerce functionality Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and customizing Magento extensions Performance optimization, including page speed, caching, database cleanup, and server configuration Supporting integrations between Magento and our ERP, inventory, pricing, customer, and order systems Troubleshooting data synchronization and integration issues Supporting payment gateway and shipping integrations Assisting with product catalog, category, attribute, and pricing functionality Working with our existing technical partners when necessary Managing staging-to-production deployments Providing ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support Supporting and maintaining our WordPress website Troubleshooting WordPress plugins, themes, updates, security, and performance issues Making website updates and improvements as needed Magento Experience Required 4+ years of hands-on Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce development experience Strong PHP 8, MySQL/MariaDB, Composer, and Git skills Strong understanding of Magento's architecture, including modules, plugins, observers, dependency injection, preferences, APIs, and cron jobs Experience building and modifying Magento functionality properly without core hacks Experience with Magento APIs and third-party system integrations Comfortable working on Linux servers through SSH and CLI Strong knowledge of bin/magento, cron, indexers, caching, and deployment processes Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch and Magento search configuration Experience troubleshooting Magento performance and database issues Experience with staging-to-production deployment workflows Experience with payment, shipping, ERP, or inventory integrations WordPress Experience Experience maintaining and troubleshooting WordPress websites Plugin and theme management WordPress security and updates Performance optimization Ability to make front-end and back-end website changes as needed What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is responsive, dependable, and proactive. When there is a problem, we need someone who can investigate it, explain what is causing it, recommend a solution, and follow the issue through until it is resolved. Clear communication is extremely important to us. You should be able to explain what you changed, why you changed it, and whether the change could affect other parts of the website or integrations. You should also be comfortable working directly with our internal team and other technology providers involved with our ERP, payments, hosting, and integrations.
