Node.js Developer Needed to Update & Improve Existing Web Application

We are looking for an experienced Node.js Developer to help us make updates and improvements to an existing, running web application. The application is already developed and operational. We need a developer who can understand the existing codebase, implement requested updates, fix issues, and ensure everything continues to work smoothly without disrupting the current functionality. Responsibilities Review and understand the existing Node.js codebase Implement new features and updates to the existing web application Fix bugs and resolve existing technical issues Improve application performance and reliability where needed Work with existing APIs, databases, and third-party integrations Test all changes thoroughly before deployment Ensure new updates do not break existing functionality Communicate clearly regarding progress, challenges, and estimated completion Requirements Strong experience with Node.js Good knowledge of Express.js or similar Node.js frameworks Experience working with existing/production web applications Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend development Experience with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL Familiarity with Git/GitHub Ability to troubleshoot and work independently in an existing codebase Good attention to detail and clean coding practices Preferred Experience with frontend technologies such as React.js, Next.js, HTML/CSS, or JavaScript Experience integrating third-party APIs Experience deploying Node.js applications Understanding of authentication, security, and performance optimization Project Details This is an existing web application, so you should be comfortable working with someone else's code and making targeted changes rather than building everything from scratch. We will provide the successful candidate with access to the existing project/codebase and a detailed list of required updates. There may be opportunities for ongoing work if the collaboration goes well.
