Senior Full-Stack Developer Needed to Audit & Recover Existing Web Application

I’m looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Developer to audit and recover an existing web application that was previously developed for me by another software company. I already have technical documentation for the frontend, backend and a separate mobile app, and I am in the process of obtaining access to the complete source-code files delivered by the previous development company. This is NOT a project to rebuild the application from scratch. My first objective is to understand exactly what was delivered and determine whether the existing web platform can be restored and deployed. The web platform is an interactive video/flow system where videos can be combined with multiple-choice questions, open-text answers, video responses and other interactions. There is also a separate mobile application built for a different purpose. The web platform and mobile app are not simply two versions of the same product. My immediate priority is the web platform. Initial scope: • Review the existing source code and technical documentation • Identify the technology stack and project structure • Determine which components belong to the web platform and which belong to the mobile app • Identify anything essential that may be missing (database, credentials, environment variables, cloud services, etc.) • Get the existing web application running locally • If the necessary components are available, deploy a working staging version online for testing • Provide a clear summary of anything still required to restore the platform fully I would like to begin with a small audit/recovery engagement, rather than committing to a large development project before we know the condition of the existing codebase. If the recovery is successful, there is potential for substantial additional work improving and expanding the platform. Experience with React, Node.js, cloud deployment/DevOps and taking over existing codebases is particularly relevant. Flutter experience is also valuable because of the separate mobile application. Please briefly explain whether you have previously taken over an application developed by another team and how you would approach the initial audit and recovery. Expected outcome of the initial phase: At the end of the audit, I want a clear written assessment of what I have, what is missing, whether the existing web application can be recovered, and what would be required to put it back online. If the codebase is sufficiently complete, the next objective would be to get it running locally and deploy a staging version for testing.
