Cut lowball jobs before they reach your phone

An alert that fires on every “logo + website + app for $50” will train you to ignore alerts. Filters are the product. Job Alerts lets each subscription set a minimum fixed budget, a target hourly rate, exclude words, and country include or exclude lists.

1,215 new matches in 24h · 105,571 matching jobs in the archive

Start with a floor you would actually take

If you will not do a fixed job under $400, put $400 in the profile. You will see fewer pings and reply to more of them. Raise the floor after a week if the matches still look cheap.

Exclude words that never pay

Common noise: “urgent cheap”, “for exposure”, “need it tonight”, “student project”. Add your own. Revisit the list when a bad job still slips through.

Country filters are a quality lever

Include countries you have already billed. Exclude countries that only send unpaid test tasks if that is your experience. This is your rule, not a ranking of people.

Will filters hide good starter jobs?

They hide jobs below your floor. If you want practice work, make a second, quieter profile. Do not mix it with the profile that pays rent.
