AI Technical Generalist — Product, Automation & Development

We’re looking for a strong, hands-on AI technical generalist who can take real business and product problems, understand them quickly, and turn them into practical working solutions. This is not a role for someone who only writes prompts, creates basic ChatGPT automations, or provides high-level AI consulting. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working across AI, software development, APIs, databases, automation, debugging, and deployment. The right person should be able to work independently, investigate unfamiliar systems, determine the best technical approach, and build solutions rather than only recommending them. What You’ll Do Understand business, product, and operational requirements and translate them into technical solutions Build AI-powered applications, workflows, internal tools, and automations Work with LLM APIs and modern AI development platforms Integrate AI capabilities with existing applications, APIs, databases, and third-party services Build and maintain backend services, scripts, and supporting infrastructure where required Investigate technical issues using logs, APIs, databases, and application behavior Evaluate different models and AI approaches based on accuracy, reliability, latency, and cost Improve existing AI workflows and identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes Build prototypes quickly and turn successful prototypes into reliable production implementations Test, debug, document, and deploy the solutions you develop Work independently and provide clear updates on progress, technical decisions, risks, and blockers Requirements Strong hands-on experience building applications or workflows using modern AI/LLM technologies Regular use of AI development tools such as OpenAI Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools Experience working with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or comparable platforms Strong understanding of APIs, JSON, webhooks, databases, application logic, and debugging Ability to write and understand production-quality code Experience integrating AI into existing software rather than only building standalone demos Comfortable working with Git and modern software development workflows Good analytical and problem-solving ability Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly Strong written communication Ability to work independently without requiring detailed instructions for every step Useful Experience Experience in some of the following would be beneficial, but you do not need to have all of them: * Python, TypeScript, Node.js, or similar languages * Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) * Vector databases and embeddings * AI agents and tool/function calling * Structured outputs and workflow orchestration * Document processing and data extraction * PostgreSQL or other relational databases * AWS or other cloud platforms * Docker and containerized applications * Serverless or event-driven architectures * AI evaluation, monitoring, guardrails, and cost optimization What We’re Looking For We care more about demonstrated ability than job titles, degrees, or certifications. A strong candidate should be able to receive a problem such as: “Here is the existing workflow, application, and data. Figure out where AI can help, design the solution, build it, test it, and make it usable.” You should be comfortable taking ownership of that process rather than waiting for detailed implementation instructions. This may be a good fit for an AI-native developer, technical founder, senior software engineer working heavily with AI, automation engineer, or someone who has built real AI-powered products and internal systems. Engagement This is a project-based remote engagement. The initial scope may lead to additional projects depending on the quality of work and fit.
