Expert React + Three.js Developer or Team Needed to Upgrade 3D Car Configurator Platform

Project Description: I have an existing web-based platform built with React and Three.js that combines a 3D car configurator with a lead-generation tool for automotive customization shops. The platform already exists, but it needs major improvements in visual quality, realism, functionality, UI/UX, responsiveness, and overall product polish before it is ready for an investor demo. I am looking for an expert-level developer or small team who is comfortable working inside an existing codebase, fixing bugs, improving the current architecture where needed, and significantly upgrading the product rather than starting from scratch. Upwork’s own guidance recommends being clear about deliverables and expectations, and that is the type of project this is: a serious improvement and polish pass on an existing product. Current stack: • React • Three.js Main goals: • Make the platform feel premium, polished, and investor-ready. • Improve the 3D configurator so it looks much more realistic and impressive. • Fix broken functionality and improve the flow of the whole site. • Upgrade the admin and shop-side experience so the platform feels more professional for both buyers and shop owners. Scope of work: • Replace or significantly improve the current 3D car models so they are much better for presentation/demo purposes. • Improve realism of the configurator, including materials, paint, tint, reflections, lighting, and general visual quality. • Add a proper background/environment so the cars do not look like they are floating in empty space. • Fix current configurator issues, especially the wheel-changing function and suspension-changing function. • Make the color options more realistic. • Make the tint options more realistic. • Add more configurator functionality, including body kits. • Add interior view functionality so users can enter the car view. • Add the ability to change interior elements such as the steering wheel. • Add a moving/driving preview mode so users can see the car while it is in motion. • Tie unique exhaust sounds to different cars so each car can play its own sound in the configurator. • Improve the chat function between the buyer and the shop owner. • Rebuild or heavily improve the admin panel. • Improve the shop owner dashboard so it looks more professional and includes more useful functions. • Improve the UI across the whole product so it feels more friendly, modern, and professional. • Optimize the full platform for both PC and mobile. • Remove bugs that currently exist across the platform. • Improve the general site flow so the experience feels smoother, more connected, and more polished from page to page and feature to feature. Important note: The public demo link is not currently active, but the platform already exists. I am specifically looking for someone comfortable reviewing and improving an existing React + Three.js codebase.
