Front-End Developer — AI-Assisted Music Web App

We're building V1 of Jammur, an AI-powered tool for music producers. It generates short musical arrangements — chords, bass, drums, melody — as MIDI played through a library of real recorded instruments, laid out on a timeline the user can play, refresh and edit. We're looking for one front-end developer to build the whole front end, from the arranger and audio engine to the surrounding pages. How we build: We work AI-assisted, and that's welcome here. Our Figma designs are structured to work directly with AI-driven development, so a lot of the UI build is fast. We want someone comfortable working this way — using AI to move quickly, then bringing real engineering judgement where it matters. Where it matters most is the audio. Browser audio timing is easy to get subtly wrong, and AI will happily produce code that looks right and sounds laggy. So you need genuine Web Audio experience to know when the output is actually tight. That's the one part that can't be shortcut. We're building this to last. The bar is production-quality — solid, tested, nothing held together with tape. If something isn't tight, it isn't done. We'd rather it took a little longer and worked properly. What you'd build: A multi-track timeline (arranger) showing MIDI across several instrument tracks Sample-accurate playback: a playhead that stays in time, no drift, tight sync between tracks MIDI triggering recorded samples with correct pitch and timing Per-track controls — mute, solo, volume, sound swapping The surrounding UI — home, project browsing, sharing, account and pricing screens A responsive build from finished Figma designs You must have: Real, demonstrable experience with the Web Audio API — scheduling, timing, low-latency playback Confidence managing complex, real-time state — an arranger with live playback and per-track controls is more than basic UI A track record of shipping polished, stable work — you take pride in things being right, not just functional. We do not want a buggy platform. Nice to have: Experience with working in audio tools Your stack: We're flexible on framework. If you've got a strong reason to build it a particular way, we're open to hearing it and why — the priority is a fast, stable, great-sounding result, not a specific tool. How we work: This is a front-end only role, you will work closely with our back end engineer. Designs are finished in Figma and ready We build in milestones, paid on delivery, with code in our repo throughout. We'll start with the arranger and playback, then work outward. You'll work with our back end developer throughout.
