Full-Stack Developer / Web Developer for E-Commerce React.js, Node.js, MySQL

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to complete a small, modern e-commerce website for an online retail business. ABOUT THE BUSINESS We are building a simple online store for a small product-based business. Customers should be able to browse a limited product catalog, view product details, search and filter products, add items to a cart, and complete a basic checkout/order flow. This is NOT a large marketplace or complex enterprise e-commerce platform. The scope is intentionally small and focused on delivering the core shopping experience in a clean, responsive, production-ready website. The reference is for inspiration around product presentation, navigation, layout, and shopping flow. We are building a custom website and are not looking to copy any existing site. SCOPE OF WORK - Build/refine a responsive e-commerce frontend - Product listing/catalog page - Product detail page - Product categories - Product search and basic filtering - Shopping cart - Basic checkout/order flow - Product images, pricing, descriptions, and inventory - Basic product management functionality - RESTful API development/integration - AI-powered product tagging/categorization - Database integration - Authentication where required - Validation and error handling - GitHub repository and clean code structure - Production deployment on Vercel AI PRODUCT TAGGING A key feature is simple AI-powered product tagging. For example, a product such as Running Shoes could automatically receive tags such as Sports, Running, Men, Footwear, and Outdoor based on its product name and description. The AI implementation should be practical and reliable rather than over-engineered. PREFERRED TECH STACK Frontend: - React.js - TypeScript - Next.js is a plus Backend: - Node.js - Express.js - RESTful APIs Database: - MongoDB or MySQL Other: - AI/API integration - Git/GitHub - Vercel deployment We are open to reasonable technical recommendations if they improve the implementation. PROJECT & HOURS This is an HOURLY project. Rate: $25–$30/hour The initial scope is expected to take approximately 10 hours for an experienced developer. We need someone who can work efficiently, understand the requirements quickly, and complete the defined scope without unnecessary overengineering.
