Senior WordPress/Elementor Expert & UI/UX Designer Wanted – Rebuild a complex website

Project Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior WordPress/Elementor specialist who also possesses a strong understanding of modern web design, UI/UX, responsive design, SEO, and performance. Our extensive German-language corporate website is already live and comprises numerous pages, custom layouts, forms, internal links, Rank Math SEO data, schema markup, and various functionalities. However, the website has become technically overly complex. Many pages contain custom code, bespoke solutions, and dependencies that are barely maintainable for a standard user. Our goal is therefore a complete rebuild using Elementor: initially, a verifiable 1:1 reproduction of the existing website; subsequently, controlled improvements to design, layout, mobile UX, accessibility, and performance; all visible content and design elements must be easily editable via the visual interface; no reliance on custom frontend code; a clean, streamlined, and long-term maintainable WordPress backend. Core Project Goal The existing website is to be fully migrated to a native Elementor system. For us, "natively editable" means: Elementor and Elementor Pro widgets; Elementor variables; Elementor global classes; Elementor components; Elementor Theme Builder; WPForms for forms; Rank Math for SEO; Complianz for consent management; clearly named containers, widgets, components, and templates. The following are not accepted: HTML or code widgets; custom frontend PHP, CSS, or JavaScript code; Elementor Custom Code; WPCode dependencies; custom-developed Elementor widgets; hidden shortcodes replacing native widgets; large add-on collections; disorganized local overrides on individual pages; template imports without a clean, native rebuild. A maximum of two additional Elementor add-ons may be used—subject to prior approval—if a key function cannot be implemented natively using Elementor and Elementor Pro. Your Tasks 1. Analyze the existing website Complete inventory of all relevant page types and layouts; Analysis of existing templates, plugins, and custom code dependencies; Documentation of header, footer, navigation, forms, popups, archives, search, and 404 page; Preservation of all key content, images, links, functions, and SEO data. 2. 1:1 rebuild in Elementor Visually precise reproduction of the existing desktop, tablet, and mobile views; Conversion of all visible areas into intuitive, manageable Elementor structures; Preservation of URLs, slugs, page IDs, canonical tags, and internal links; Preservation of Rank Math metadata and existing schema markup; Preservation of existing WPForms forms and their source tracking information; No content removed or shortened without notice. Intentional improvements must not be mixed with the 1:1 version. First, it must be verifiable that nothing was lost during the rebuild. Improvements are to be implemented and documented separately thereafter. 3. Develop a global design system We want to move away from editing every button, spacing, or text style individually. The system must be centrally controllable: Brand and functional colors; Typography and responsive font sizes; Primary, secondary, and CTA buttons (including hover and focus states); Content widths; Section and element spacing; Border radii, shadows, cards, and grids; Desktop, tablet, and mobile values; Recurring sections and components; Distinct profiles for services, industries, childcare, medical practices, industrial sectors, locations, magazine, recruiting, and campaigns. A global change is intended to specifically update all associated elements without overwriting local text, images, links, or forms. 4. Layout and design improvements Not every existing page is already perfect in terms of design. The assignment therefore explicitly includes high-quality design work. You will: identify weak or inconsistent sections; develop better visual hierarchies; fix mobile layout issues; structure content for greater clarity; place CTAs effectively; improve image integration and cropping; ensure consistent spacing, typography, and card designs; develop modern, high-quality, and credible B2B layouts; present design improvements initially as a clear, comparable alternative. We are not looking for a pure technician or a template assembler. You must be able to independently translate complex content into compelling, high-quality web page layouts.
