**Tableau Server Specialist — AWS/Linux Installation, Operations & Dashboard Development** We are looking for an experienced Tableau specialist to deploy and configure Tableau Server on AWS Linux for a client, establish reliable operations, and develop dashboards. **You must have direct, hands-on experience installing and operating Tableau Server on Linux in AWS.** Dashboard development experience alone is insufficient. **Commitment** - **First two months:** full-time engagement for assessment, installation, configuration, operational setup, documentation, and dashboard development. - **After setup:** ongoing maintenance and support, approximately **1–2 days per month**. **Responsibilities** **1. Assess requirements and recommend the configuration** - Understand the client’s data sources, reporting needs, user numbers, expected workloads, and operational requirements. - Recommend an appropriate Tableau Server architecture, AWS infrastructure, sizing, storage, and configuration. - Explain configuration choices and their implications for performance, reliability, security, scalability, and cost. - Identify prerequisites, dependencies, licensing requirements, and any constraints before implementation. **2. Install and configure Tableau Server on AWS Linux** - Prepare and validate the AWS/Linux environment in coordination with our infrastructure team. - Install, activate, and configure Tableau Server. - Configure connectivity, HTTPS, authentication, permissions, service accounts, and access to data sources. - Configure data connections, extract refreshes, schedules, and background processing as required. - Validate the installation through functional, connectivity, and performance checks. **3. Establish and perform ongoing operations** - Monitor server health, resource usage, background jobs, refresh failures, and performance. - Define and perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks. - Configure backups, retention, and recovery procedures, and verify restoration. - Manage upgrades, patches, certificates, logs, disk usage, and housekeeping. - Troubleshoot incidents and performance issues, document root causes, and implement corrective actions. - Coordinate maintenance windows and communicate operational issues clearly. **4. Create an installation and operations runbook** - Document the architecture, configuration, dependencies, and installation steps so our team can reproduce the setup. - Provide clear procedures for startup/shutdown, health checks, monitoring, backup and recovery, upgrades, and troubleshooting. - Include a maintenance calendar, escalation procedures, and guidance for common failures. - Keep the documentation aligned with the implemented environment and provide a handover to our team. **5. Create and maintain dashboards** - Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical dashboards. - Connect and prepare data, build calculations, and develop dashboards and reports. - Configure publishing, permissions, and refresh schedules. - Validate data accuracy, usability, and performance with stakeholders. - Document dashboards and their data dependencies. **Required experience** - Proven production experience installing, configuring, and administering **Tableau Server on Linux in AWS**. - Strong understanding of Tableau Server architecture, processes, configuration, and performance tuning. - Practical Linux administration and AWS infrastructure experience. - Experience with Tableau security, authentication, permissions, monitoring, backups, recovery, and upgrades. - Hands-on dashboard development and SQL skills. - Ability to work independently, troubleshoot systematically, and produce clear operational documentation. - Availability for the initial two months full-time and subsequent monthly maintenance. **Mandatory application requirements** Please include: 1. **Your CV.
