Build a Slack AI assistant template for small businesses (Claude API, data syncs, Postgres)

We need an independent freelancer to build a reusable Slack-native AI assistant template that we install for small businesses (typically 5-10 staff). What it is Team members DM or tag the bot in Slack and ask business questions in plain English. It answers with accurate figures, shows its working and sources, and says how fresh the data is. It is reactive Q&A only, plus one scheduled Monday 8am owner briefing. The bot carries our own brand (our Slack app, name and avatar). No third-party branding is visible to clients. Scope and deliverables 1. A custom Slack app (Bolt) per client: our name and avatar, DMs and mentions, threaded replies, and role-based permissions (e.g. finance answers for founders only). 2. A question router that separates number questions, know-how questions and "find me" search questions. 3. Fixed metric calculations as code (SQL or Python) over a per-client data hub. The AI never does the maths itself. Metrics are defined in our rule book (examples: units sold by channel and period, rate of sale from purchase orders, weeks of cover, stock runway, conversion rates, cash position, upcoming large invoices). 4. A data hub: Google Sheets to start, with a clean path to Postgres (UK/EU hosting). Fed by off-the-shelf syncs (Coupler.io for Xero, Shopify and Amazon Seller Central) and a PO email parser (Parseur or similar). You configure these rather than coding the connectors. 5. Retrieval over our knowledge library (Notion), plus client documents in Google Drive, email (Gmail/Outlook as an internal app) and Slack. 6. A scheduled Monday 8am briefing posted to Slack. 7. Setup tooling and docs so we can clone a new client from the template in 2-3 days. LLM Claude via AWS Bedrock (EU region) preferred, or OpenAI. Open-source components are fine if the licence allows commercial use and rebranding (e.g. Onyx CE MIT). Please avoid n8n for client hosting due to its licence. Who we want An independent freelancer, not an agency. Proven Slack app builds, LLM tool-calling/agents, SQL/Postgres, and API/data-sync experience (Xero, Shopify or Amazon SP-API a plus). Clear written English. Freelancers based in the UAE are preferred, and you must have working hours that overlap with the UAE and Europe. Pilot and acceptance Built and tested on a pilot business's real data. Acceptance: the bot correctly answers our test set of owner questions against source figures. A mutual NDA is required before we share the detailed spec. Price and structure Fixed price. Please quote your own fixed price for the full scope above, broken into milestones of 20% / 30% / 30% / 20%. The final 20% is released when the bot passes the owner question test. Timeline about 3-4 weeks.
