Senior Engineering Consultant for React Native, Node.js, PostgreSQL and AWS (mobile app)

I’m the Product Owner of Fanland, a football social sports mobile app for iOS and Android. We are at the architecture and foundation stage, with documented product requirements and a visual demo. I’m looking for a senior, hands-on engineering consultant to help us build a stable, secure and maintainable production platform. How we work I’m a nontechnical Product Owner. Implementation will primarily be carried out using Claude Code and Codex through clearly scoped tasks, with documented requirements, tests and review evidence. Your role will be to provide independent engineering judgment, personally review critical work, identify gaps and help operate the platform as it moves toward production. Planned technology stack * React Native with Expo for iOS and Android. * TypeScript and Node.js, with NestJS planned for the backend. * PostgreSQL. * AWS managed services. Responsibilities: * Review architecture, development setup, dependencies and implementation plans. * Independently review code and test evidence, particularly authentication, account linking, permissions and critical business rules. * Assess database correctness, including concurrent requests, duplicate submissions, deadlines and controlled corrections to results and scores. * Review native mobile builds, push notifications and release readiness. * Guide AWS setup and ongoing operations, including monitoring, deployment, rollback, backups and demonstrated recovery. * Help establish practical incident procedures and provide ongoing support under agreed availability and response expectations. * Explain findings clearly to a nontechnical owner and translate them into actionable development tasks. Experience we’re looking for: You should be comfortable reviewing another developer’s work, investigating failures and validating whether tests actually cover important risks. Experience reviewing AI-generated code is useful, and you must take personal responsibility for your conclusions. Please distinguish your own hands-on experience from work performed by a wider team. If other people would contribute to this engagement, explain their roles. Initial engagement: We would start with a small paid review of our architecture and development setup plan. The deliverables would be prioritized findings, practical recommendations and a walkthrough of your assessment. If the fit is good, this can develop into an ongoing consulting relationship covering critical reviews, release preparation and production operations. Incident coverage and availability would be agreed explicitly.
