Senior Full-Stack Engineer with Healthcare Experience for SaaS Launch & AWS Migration

I’m looking for a senior full-stack engineer with healthcare technology experience to help take an existing, functioning SaaS web application from MVP stage to production-ready. The product is already built and working. I am NOT looking for a rebuild. This is a healthcare-focused platform. The application does not currently handle HIPAA-regulated patient data, so HIPAA compliance is not part of the immediate project. However, the product may handle more sensitive healthcare workflows in the future, so I want to work with someone who understands healthcare software, security, privacy, and how to build with future HIPAA requirements in mind. I am also hoping to build a long-term working relationship with the right engineer for future paid development work as the product grows. The immediate goal is to stabilize the application, fix bugs, clean up problematic code where necessary, improve the admin console, make targeted UX/UI improvements, migrate the application to AWS, and make sure the product is secure, reliable, and ready for launch. Scope includes: * Review the existing codebase and identify major technical issues * Fix existing bugs across desktop and mobile * Clean up or refactor code where necessary for stability and maintainability * Fix and improve the existing admin console * Make targeted UX/UI improvements to improve consistency and usability * Make sure important user flows work correctly * Improve error handling and reliability * Migrate the application and database to AWS * Set up a simple, appropriate production AWS environment * Configure production environment variables, SSL, backups, logging, and deployment * Review security, permissions, and access controls * Test the core product before launch * Fix launch-blocking issues found during testing * Make reasonable technical decisions with future healthcare privacy and HIPAA requirements in mind I am specifically NOT looking for: * A complete rewrite * A framework migration unless clearly necessary * A major redesign * Unnecessary new feature development * Overly complicated AWS architecture * Refactoring working code simply for the sake of refactoring The priority is to preserve what already works and make the product stable, polished, secure, and launch-ready. This project will be structured using mutually agreed-upon, milestone-based fixed pricing. Each milestone should include: * A clearly defined scope * Specific deliverables * Clear completion criteria * A fixed price agreed to in advance I would like the first milestone to be a paid codebase audit and launch-readiness review. After the audit, I would expect a prioritized plan that separates: 1. Critical issues that must be fixed before launch 2. Important improvements that should be completed 3. Nice-to-have items that can wait until after launch The remaining milestones should then be agreed upon before work begins so the project stays within the agreed budget and scope. Ideal candidate: * Senior full-stack development experience * Experience working on healthcare, healthtech, dental, medical, or other regulated software products * Understanding of healthcare privacy and security considerations * Familiarity with HIPAA-ready architecture is strongly preferred * Experience taking MVPs into production * Strong frontend debugging skills * Backend and database experience * AWS deployment and migration experience * Strong understanding of responsive and mobile web applications * Able to improve an existing codebase without unnecessarily rebuilding it * Comfortable working independently and explaining technical decisions clearly * Interested in an ongoing paid development relationship after this initial project Please include: * Examples of healthcare or healthtech products you have worked on * Your specific role on those projects * Any experience with HIPAA-compliant or HIPAA-ready systems * Examples of applications you have stabilized or taken to production * Your AWS experience * How you would approach the initial codebase audit * A proposed milestone structure and fixed-price estimate * Whether you would personally complete the work or use a team * Your availability for future paid work after this initial project The goal is to agree on scope, deliverables, and pricing up front so that the product reaches a clearly defined launch-ready state within a reasonable budget.
