Senior Magento Data Engineer / Product Data Standardisation Expert Location: Remote Contract: Freelance Start: Immediate Catalogue Size: 287,981 products 📌 Mission Our Magento 2 catalogue (≈288k products) contains legacy import errors from 2022–2023. These errors are fully correctable, but require a senior engineer capable of decoding encoded attribute data, normalising technical values to international standards, and building an automated pipeline that prevents future inconsistencies. We are looking for a top‑tier freelancer who can take full ownership of the correction, standardisation, and automation of our product data. 🛠️ Core Challenges Historical imports stored Magento option IDs (e.g., 398181) instead of readable values (e.g., 1.25mm). ~1,375 SKUs contain Cyrillic characters, breaking search and indexing. Several attribute sets were never normalised. Elasticsearch and Qdrant indexes require full rebuild after correction. 🎯 Scope of Work 1. Correct All Existing Data Errors Decode every Magento option ID into its correct readable value across all product families (fasteners, hydraulics, power transmission, bearings). Fix ~1,375 Cyrillic SKUs to restore searchability. Correct ABEC ratings and all encoded attribute fields. Write corrected values into the proper Magento fields. Rebuild Elasticsearch and Qdrant indexes. 2. Standardise to International Technical Standards Classify every product to ETIM and eCl@ss. Normalise technical values to ISO, DIN, EN. Convert all units to SI. 3. Generate Technical Texts (FR + EN) Produce automated product descriptions and specification summaries in French and English, generated from corrected attribute data. 4. Build the Automated Pipeline Create a fully automated pipeline ensuring every new product delivered by the ETL team is: corrected, standardised, text‑generated, validated, before going live.
