Technical SEO & CMS Implementation Developer (Long-Term)

We're looking for a long-term technical developer to help implement SEO-driven websites, reusable CMS templates, and technical improvements across multiple client websites. This is not a typical page-builder role. We already develop the SEO strategy, information architecture, content strategy, wireframes, and UX. Your role is to transform those plans into clean, scalable, maintainable implementations. Our goal is to build systems—not one-off pages. What You'll Be Working On Reusable CMS Templates One of our biggest priorities is eliminating repetitive page building. Instead of manually recreating layouts for every page, you'll build reusable templates and components that allow content editors to populate structured fields and publish pages efficiently. Examples include: Converting wireframes into reusable WordPress templates Building ACF Flexible Content layouts Creating reusable page components Developing custom page templates Improving editor workflows Building scalable content publishing systems Supporting Elementor where appropriate (without relying on it for everything) Website Overhauls You'll help modernize and improve existing websites by implementing: New page layouts Responsive improvements Content restructuring Navigation updates Internal linking implementation Site architecture improvements Accessibility improvements Template cleanup CSS cleanup Component standardization Technical SEO Implementation You'll implement recommendations from our SEO audits, including: Schema markup Breadcrumbs FAQ implementation Redirects Canonicals Indexing directives Technical SEO fixes Internal linking improvements Image optimization XML sitemap improvements Technical launch QA You will not be responsible for developing the SEO strategy—we'll provide that. Your role is implementing it accurately and efficiently. Performance Optimization We're looking for someone comfortable improving website performance, including: Core Web Vitals PageSpeed optimization CSS & JavaScript optimization Image optimization Lazy loading Plugin audits Asset optimization Performance troubleshooting General Development Occasionally you'll assist with: WordPress troubleshooting Plugin conflicts API integrations HubSpot forms and embeds Analytics implementation support (GA4/GTM) Site migrations General maintenance Required Skills Strong PHP Custom WordPress development Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro) Flexible Content Custom page templates HTML5 CSS / SCSS JavaScript Responsive development Git SFTP Staging environments Debugging WordPress issues Nice to Have WP Engine Cloudflare Elementor Technical SEO Schema.org Core Web Vitals optimization REST APIs WooCommerce HubSpot CMS Shopify Webflow GA4 / GTM How We Work We'll provide: SEO strategy Wireframes Content strategy Technical requirements QA feedback Your role is to implement them cleanly while identifying opportunities to improve maintainability, scalability, and performance. What Success Looks Like We don't measure success by how many pages are built. We measure success by how efficiently future pages can be built. For example: Instead of manually recreating 50 service pages... Build one reusable template. Create structured fields. Allow editors to publish dozens of pages quickly while maintaining consistent design, SEO, and user experience.
