JOB TITLE: IoT Geospatial Developer: Live Mapping, Drone API Integration & Hardware BackhaulJOB DESCRIPTION: We are deploying an Autonomous Out-of-Band Corridor Protection architecture for heavy freight rail infrastructure. We do not build "happy-path" enterprise software. We treat raw telemetry, field failures, and physical latency exactly for what they are—unhedged financial risk. We are hiring a dedicated engineer to own the geospatial tracking pipelines, automated hardware APIs, and telemetric visualization assets for a high-security rail corridor network. YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:LIVE GEOSPATIAL TRACKING PIPELINES: Build high-performance maps tracking active corridors, moving trains, and live track assets across thousands of kilometers. AUTOMATED DRONE-IN-A-BOX (DiB) ORCHESTRATION: Integrate open APIs (such as DJI Enterprise, Pixhawk, or DroneCore) to automatically trigger drone launches within 45 seconds of field alerts. RESILIENT HARDWARE BACKHAUL HANDLERS: Design data ingestion logic that flawlessly pieces together geospatial telemetry, handling low-bandwidth LEO satellite handovers, cellular drops, and out-of-order field alerts without crashing. ADVERSARIAL SANDBOX VETTING (YOUR FIRST WEEK TASK):Before your code ever approaches a live asset framework, it will be subjected to an intensive sandbox stress test. You must build your loops to handle:TIME-WARP TELEMETRY: Geospatial logs arriving completely out of chronological order (e.g., timestamps from 3 hours ago interleaved randomly with current live microsecond ticks).VOLUMETRIC NETWORK FLOODS: A sudden 1,000x backpressure flood into the pipeline during a cellular network recovery without throwing unhandled exceptions or running out of memory. REQUIRED TECH STACK: Strong expertise in Python or Node.js backend architectures.Hands-on experience with geospatial libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox, Turf.js, GeoJSON). Experience with IoT protocols (MQTT, WebSockets, gRPC) and time-series streaming databases. Prior experience working with drone automation APIs, GIS mapping, or autonomous hardware clusters is highly valued. HOW TO APPLY: We do not look at generic, AI-generated copy-paste proposals. To prove you actually read this job post, start your proposal text with the exact phrase: "REAL friction." Applications without this phrase will be automatically declined. Briefly detail your direct experience with live geospatial tracking or autonomous hardware integrations.
