Senior Ai & Full stack Cloud Engineer (AWS & Gen AI)

We’re building an AI-native application and are looking for a senior backend engineer who can architect and build the backend from the ground up. This is a defined 5-week project with the goal of delivering a scalable, secure, well-tested, and production-ready backend — not an ongoing retainer or maintenance role. Initial Test — $50 Before starting the full project, we’ll begin with a small $50 paid test task to evaluate your technical skills, code quality, communication, and ability to understand the requirements. If you do a great job on the test and demonstrate that you’re the right fit, you’ll have the opportunity to take on the full project, with a significantly larger project budget. What You’ll Be Responsible For * Architect and develop a scalable serverless backend on AWS * Integrate Generative AI models such as Claude, GPT-4, and similar models * Implement proper AI error handling, retries, fallbacks, and cost optimization * Build secure authentication, authorization, multi-tenant isolation, and session management * Work with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and Cognito * Implement monitoring, logging, and automated deployment workflows * Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested TypeScript/Node.js or Python code * Design APIs and backend services with scalability and reliability in mind * Provide complete technical and architecture documentation * Prepare the system for production deployment and handoff Requirements We’re looking for someone with: * 5+ years of professional backend/software engineering experience * Strong experience building and deploying production systems * Deep knowledge of AWS and serverless architecture * Hands-on experience implementing Generative AI features in real-world applications * Strong TypeScript/Node.js or Python skills * Experience with AWS Cognito and multi-tenant security * Understanding of distributed systems and scalable architecture patterns * Strong system-design and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Excellent code quality and documentation practices Project Details Timeline: 5 weeks Initial Test: $50 paid test task Full Project: Larger project following successful completion of the test Scope: Architecture, development, testing, deployment, and documentation Final Deliverables * Production-ready backend * Scalable AWS/serverless architecture * Generative AI integrations * Secure authentication and multi-tenant infrastructure * Tested and documented APIs * Automated deployment setup * Monitoring and logging * Architecture documentation * Complete handoff guide for our team Important This is not an ongoing support, maintenance, or hourly monitoring position. We want to work with an experienced engineer who can take ownership of the backend, make strong technical decisions, and deliver a production-ready system within the defined timeline.
