AI Automation Business Partner

TITLE n8n + Python Engineer — AI Automation Builds, Long-Term Partner Track DESCRIPTION I run an AI automation practice based in Los Angeles. I handle sales, client discovery, and scoping. I'm looking for one engineer to own the building side with me. I have a marketing team ready to get leads, but I want to work with someone willing to build this with me from the ground up. This is not a one-off gig. I'm looking for the person who becomes my technical partner. The work AI automation systems for small businesses — email triage and drafting, customer-service agents built over a company's own history, document and form automation, CRM and data integration. Every build lives in the client's own accounts, and the client owns the code. The stack is n8n plus the Claude API, with Python and TypeScript for anything n8n can't do cleanly. Nothing goes live until it has run in shadow mode against real data first — that's the week that finds the bugs, and I don't skip it. Who I'm looking for Someone who genuinely loves this. You write code because you like writing code. You'd be building things whether or not anyone was paying you. Careful over fast. I sell on reliability, not speed. Plenty of agencies promise a deploy in 48 hours. I promise a system that still works in six months. Asks first, builds second. You'll be building for clients you don't speak to every day, through me. Someone who builds what they assumed instead of what they asked about costs us both. Good with people. You won't handle sales, payments or support. You will sometimes join a 30-minute technical call to explain a build to a business owner in plain language. Honest when something breaks. Things break. I want to hear it from you early, not from the client late. Real work ethic. I'm building something here, and I want someone who wants that too. Requirements Python and JavaScript/TypeScript. Both, not one. n8n in production — not tutorials — and you know where its ceiling is and what to do past it. Real API integration experience: OAuth, webhooks, retries, rate limits, the things that actually eat the hours. Docker, and a real database (PostgreSQL preferred). Conversational English.
