About Us We're an automotive business using an AI chatbot that analyzes advertising and marketing data. We're looking for a hands-on AI Product Engineer to learn this system, improve it, and grow it from a data-analysis tool into a recommendation engine and, eventually, a business intelligence platform used across our client base. The Role As our AI Product Engineer, you'll own the product roadmap and do much of the technical work yourself. The work covers the full stack: our web front end, the backend that manages tenants, users, and data access, and how the chatbot fits into that architecture and communicates with the rest of our platform. The project will grow in three phases to start: Learn and improve the current system. Get up to speed on the existing AI chatbot, how it connects to our data, and how it produces its analysis. Document how it works and fix gaps in accuracy or usability. Add recommendations. Extend the chatbot so it does more than report numbers. It should suggest specific actions to improve ad performance, such as budget shifts, audience or creative changes, and channel mix. Expand into business intelligence. Grow the system to serve other departments (for example sales, service, parts, inventory, and finance) with their own data sources, reports, and insights. Responsibilities Learn the existing chatbot's architecture, data connections, and prompts Gather requirements from marketing and other department stakeholders and turn them into clear, prioritized features Design and build recommendation logic based on advertising data (Google Ads, Meta, and similar platforms) Write and refine prompts, workflows, and integrations to improve output quality Test outputs for accuracy and make sure recommendations are reliable and explainable Connect new data sources as the system expands to other departments Build front-end features in our web app and integrate the chatbot and other AI agents into it Maintain and extend our backend on Vercel, Supabase, and Google Cloud Platform (including BigQuery), including tenants, users, and the configuration that controls which data tables each user and the chatbot can access Design how the chatbot and its agents fit into our architecture and communicate with the rest of our platform Maintain documentation and give regular progress updates Required Skills 3-5 years of experience building AI/LLM applications, data analytics tools, or AI-powered products Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) and prompt engineering Working knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript Comfort with SQL and working with data from APIs, spreadsheets, or databases Backend development experience, ideally with Supabase (Postgres), Vercel, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and LangChain, including multi-tenant data models, user management, and access controls Front-end development experience with React or Next.js, and comfort working in an existing codebase Understanding of digital advertising metrics (CPC, CTR, CPL, ROAS, conversion rate) Ability to translate business questions into technical requirements and product features Clear written communication in English Nice to Have Experience in the automotive industry (dealerships, OEMs, or automotive marketing) Familiarity with BI tools (Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau) Experience with RAG, AI agents, or tool-calling workflows Experience with CRM or dealer management systems (DMS)
