Backend CMS & Lead Management Development — Next.js
1. Project Overview
FIDgate is looking for an experienced Next.js/backend developer to develop and deploy a backend and secure CMS integrated with our existing Next.js website.
The solution will allow our team to manage multilingual blog posts and case studies, website media, lead capture, publishing workflows and basic SEO functionality without relying on external form or CMS interfaces.
The existing website and repository will be provided to the selected contractor.
2. Scope of Work
CMS & Administration
Secure admin panel with editorial dashboard
Email/password authentication with secure password storage
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Server-side sessions, CSRF protection and login rate limiting
Basic audit logging for relevant administrative actions
Account/password management
Blog & Case Studies
Blog management in English, Spanish and German
Multilingual case-study management
Rich-text/block-based content editing
Translation status by language
Ability to copy content between languages
Draft preview
Version history and restoration
Draft, published, scheduled and archived states
Scheduled publishing
Soft delete, restore and permanent deletion
SEO & Media
SEO fields by language, including title, description, canonical URL and Open Graph metadata
Media library for images and PDFs
Multilingual image alt text
301 redirect management
JSON content export/import for backup and migration
Integration with an existing SEO/editorial publishing service
Localized public blog and case-study routes with appropriate SEO metadata
Lead Management & Website Forms
Create native website forms and supporting backend APIs for:
Contact enquiries
Demo requests
Newsletter signups
Gated case-study access
Submissions should:
Be securely stored
Be visible through an admin lead inbox
Trigger appropriate internal notifications
Send user confirmation emails
Include appropriate validation and anti-spam measures
The implementation should use native website forms rather than third-party embedded forms.
3. Documentation & Handover
The project should include:
Technical setup and operations documentation
Environment/configuration documentation
CMS user guide
Documentation for scheduled publishing and external integrations
Short video walkthrough of the CMS and main workflows
Source code committed to the existing project repository
4. Acceptance Criteria
The project will be considered complete when:
Admin authentication and 2FA are operational
Multilingual blog posts and case studies can be created, edited and published
Draft preview and version restoration work correctly
Scheduled content publishes correctly
Media can be uploaded and managed
Leads from all required forms are stored and visible in the admin panel
Notification and confirmation emails work correctly
Required external editorial integration is operational
The delivered application builds and runs successfully on the existing Next.js App Router architecture
No blocking defects remain in the agreed workflows
Documentation and handover materials are delivered
5. Client Dependencies
FIDgate will provide the selected contractor with:
Repository and deployment-environment access
Required configuration for transactional email
Credentials/access for required third-party integrations
Existing website and technical context
Timely review and acceptance feedback
Credentials will only be shared after the engagement begins.
6. Timeline
Expected duration: 2–4 weeks
Target period: September–October 2026
Final timing can be agreed with the selected contractor based on their proposed implementation plan.
