We are building a mobile sensing platform based on Raspberry Pi and embedded hardware. Our system integrates multiple sensors into a compact, field-deployable device that collects and processes data in real-world environments. We're looking for an experienced firmware/embedded engineer to help us debug, test, and improve the reliability of the platform as we prepare for larger deployments. Responsibilities Debug firmware and embedded Linux issues on Raspberry Pi-based hardware Diagnose hardware/software integration problems Test sensor interfaces and peripheral devices Troubleshoot boot, power, connectivity, and data collection issues Improve system stability and reliability Assist with validation and field testing Document findings and recommend improvements Required Skills Strong experience with Raspberry Pi and Embedded Linux C/C++ and/or Python Hardware debugging using serial consoles, logs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and diagnostic tools Experience interfacing with sensors and peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, GPIO) Experience developing or debugging automotive electronics or in-vehicle embedded systems is required. This may include vehicle firmware, CAN bus, automotive ECUs, power systems, telematics, dashcams, ADAS, or other automotive embedded platforms. Git and Linux development environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Nice to Have Experience with camera, GPS, IMU, or environmental sensors Power management and battery-powered embedded systems Wireless communications (WiFi, LTE, Bluetooth) Manufacturing or hardware bring-up experience Engagement Part-time to start (approximately 10 to 20 hours/week) Potential for a longer-term engagement Remote Please include the following in your proposal: A brief description of embedded hardware or automotive projects you've worked on Your experience with Raspberry Pi-based systems Your experience with automotive electronics or vehicle integration Your preferred development environment and debugging tools Your availability and time zone
