Project Overview
I am a clinical researcher developing an AI-powered website focused on the positive clinical outcomes and adverse effects of dietary supplements.
The platform will allow consumers and healthcare professionals to search by supplement name, symptom, or health condition and explore reported benefits, side effects, and supporting clinical research.
I already have structured data in Excel spreadsheets, with two tabs per supplement: Positive Clinical Outcomes and Adverse Effects.
I need an experienced full-stack developer to complete this project in two phases:
1. Phase 1: Build a quick, functional proof of concept (POC) using Lovable and Supabase.
2. Phase 2: Develop a scalable, production-ready website using Next.js, Supabase, and AI integration.
I am looking for one developer or a small team capable of handling both phases.
Phase 1: Lovable Proof of Concept
The immediate priority is to build an affordable prototype to validate the database, search functionality, and website design.
Requirements:
• Build a working, mobile-responsive website using Lovable.
• Set up a Supabase PostgreSQL database.
• Import one supplement's Excel data, including positive and adverse effects.
• Design a database structure supporting multiple supplements, clinical categories, dosages, and outcomes.
• Implement search by supplement name, with results organized by clinical category and positive/negative effects.
• Create a clean, professional, user-friendly interface.
• Add 3–5 additional supplements to validate search accuracy, database scalability, and website functionality.
• Ensure the prototype can support future AI-powered search and RAG integration.
Deliverable: A hosted, functional POC with an approved design, accurate data imports, and working search functionality.
Phase 2: Production Website Development
Once the POC is approved, develop a production-ready website with the following capabilities:
1. Frontend Development
• Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Modern, responsive design for desktop and mobile.
• Fast performance, SEO fundamentals, and reusable components.
2. Database and Data Management
• Supabase PostgreSQL with pgvector and Row Level Security.
• Python/pandas for Excel data imports, cleaning, validation, and duplicate handling.
• Scalable database architecture supporting additional supplements and clinical categories.
• Simple process for importing and updating supplement information.
3. Search and AI Integration
• Search by supplement name, symptom, or health condition.
• Filter positive outcomes and adverse effects by clinical category.
• Integrate an LLM, preferably Google Gemini API.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) using information from the supplement database.
• Provide both quick answers and more detailed explanations.
• Include source references and clinical research citations where available.
• Distinguish reported consumer experiences from published clinical evidence.
• Minimize AI hallucinations and unsupported medical claims.
4. Deployment and Handover
• GitHub repository and Vercel deployment.
• Secure API configuration, database access controls, and basic testing.
• Documentation covering the database, data imports, deployment, and maintenance.
• Full transfer of source code, accounts, and project access.
Where practical, reuse the Lovable prototype's code and database architecture to reduce development time and cost.
Required Technical Skills
• Frontend: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS.
• Prototyping: Lovable development experience.
• Database: Supabase, PostgreSQL, pgvector, Row Level Security.
• AI: LLM APIs, RAG, semantic search, preferably Gemini.
• Data Processing: Python, pandas, Excel imports.
• Deployment: GitHub, Vercel.
Nice to have: Experience with healthcare or consumer research platforms, data visualization libraries such as Recharts, and strong UI/UX design skills.
Portfolio Requirements
Please provide 2–3 examples of relevant websites or applications you personally developed, preferably demonstrating:
• Lovable and/or Next.js with Supabase.
• AI-powered search, RAG, or LLM integration.
• Database-driven websites with structured data and search functionality.
Live website links are preferred. Explain your role in each project.
Budget and Payment Terms
This is strictly a fixed-price project, NOT an hourly contract.
• Phase 1 and Phase 2 will be scoped and priced separately.
• Payments will be tied to mutually agreed milestones and accepted deliverables.
• Scope, costs, timelines, and acceptance criteria must be agreed upon before development begins.
• Phase 2 will proceed only after successful completion and approval of Phase 1.
• Any scope changes must be approved in advance.
How to Apply
Please include:
1. Your experience with Lovable, Next.js, Supabase, and RAG applications.
2. Links to 2–3 relevant projects you personally developed.
3. Your recommended approach to building the POC and transitioning to production.
4. Your experience importing Excel data into Supabase and implementing AI-powered search.
5. Your estimated fixed price and timeline for Phase 1, plus a preliminary estimate for Phase 2.
6. Whether you will complete the work personally or use a team.
Please begin your proposal with "Supplement Research Platform" to confirm you have read the requirements.
I am looking for a reliable developer interested in a longer-term relationship as the platform expands. The immediate goal is to deliver a cost-effective, working POC before committing to full production development.
