Full Stack Developer (NextJS, React Native, and GCP) @ A Biotech Startup

About us Biohax is a precision health company. We use lab testing, including epigenetic and blood work, to give people care that fits them. We deliver it directly to consumers and through a growing network of clinics, healthcare providers and partners. Today that includes DNA- and biomarker-guided supplements. Next is a telehealth platform that connects patients and providers. We build everything ourselves: websites, a mobile app, provider portals and the internal tools the company runs on. We’re a small team that moves fast and cares a lot about craft. We’re hiring four developers who want to build health products people enjoy using. We’re AI-native AI is central to how we build. We fully embrace it, and every engineer gets the tools to use it well, including Claude Code and Codex. We plan, write, review, test and ship with AI agents every day. That lets a small team build and run what would normally take a much bigger one. We’re looking for people who already work this way. You know how to direct an agent, break a problem into pieces it can handle and give it the right context. Most of all, you can tell when its output is wrong. AI makes us faster, but we still hold the same high bar for quality, design and correctness. Design is the job To us, design isn’t a coat of paint at the end. We’re aiming for clean, modern, minimal products where every screen is calm, obvious and polished. That holds whether it’s a patient checking their results or a clinician managing a hundred patients. You should have strong taste and opinions about spacing, typography and motion. You should notice when something is a few pixels off, and you should care about it. You’ll work from a shared design system and help shape it. What you’ll build Telehealth platform. A new product built from scratch that connects patients and providers in one seamless experience. Internal tools. Admin and provider portals that feel like great consumer products, not typical back-office software. Websites. Our public sites and checkout. They should feel fast and premium, and they should convert. Precision supplements. Our existing product: ordering, subscriptions, lab results and fulfillment, used daily by real customers. Whatever comes next. New products, integrations and ideas. You’ll help decide what we build, not just how. You might be a fit if you Have shipped real products and can show us work you’re proud of Have experience as an AI-native engineer, with tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar as a core part of how you work, not an occasional helper Have a strong eye for design and sweat the details. A portfolio, side projects or anything you’ve built that looks great counts. Work well in TypeScript and React, and can move across the stack when needed Like startup speed: you’re comfortable with ambiguity, take ownership end to end and don’t wait for permission Care about getting things right, because people’s health and money are on the line Communicate well in English, both written and spoken Bonus: React Native/Expo, Stripe, Firebase/Google Cloud, healthcare software or motion and interaction design English is required We’re a bilingual team, but all work is done and communicated in English. That includes code, documentation, meetings, chat and written updates. Professional English proficiency, written and spoken, is required for this role. Where you’ll work This role starts fully remote. We’re considering opening an office in Porto, and the team may move to a hybrid or in-person setup in the future. Being based in or near Porto is a plus, but it isn’t required to apply.
