I have a working handheld electronic device that has already been prototyped and manufactured. I’m looking for an experienced embedded hardware engineer to review the existing design and prepare an improved version for another manufacturing run.
The work includes correcting a connector/footprint issue reported during assembly, reviewing the PCB for manufacturing problems, and reducing BOM/component costs where possible.
I’d also like to evaluate a lower-cost flash memory option, add a way for the firmware to estimate LiPo battery level, and improve the current buzzer/volume-control circuit.
The board uses an RP2040, USB-C, LiPo charging, display connection, buttons, buzzer, and servo output.
Firmware/bootloader support may also be required if changing the flash memory affects the current MicroPython-based firmware.
The final design should be optimized for low cost and easy JLCPCB assembly.
Deliverables will include updated schematic/PCB files, BOM, Gerbers, pick-and-place files, and any required firmware changes.
