# Project Overview We're building an AI-powered SaaS platform for higher education that helps instructors review student submissions, identify potential academic integrity concerns, and make informed decisions through explainable analysis reports. The platform integrates directly with Learning Management Systems (LMS), starting with D2L Brightspace, with additional integrations planned for the future. We're looking for an experienced full-stack engineer who can independently handle backend development, LMS integrations, AI processing, cloud infrastructure, and user-facing features. This is a milestone-based contract with the potential to become a long-term engagement as the product grows. # Project Milestones Milestone 0 - LMS Integration Proof of Concept (Paid Trial) - Implement secure LMS authentication and launch. - Connect assignment submissions to the application. - Retrieve submitted files and return processing status. - Display reports directly within the LMS. - Ensure instructor-only visibility and document integration findings. Milestone 1 - Platform Architecture and Security - Build development, staging, and production environments. - Implement multi-tenant architecture and data isolation. - Set up background processing, encryption, and audit logging. - Establish automated deployment and security workflows. Milestone 2 - AI Analysis Engine - Build document extraction and processing workflows. - Integrate multiple AI analysis and similarity detection signals. - Generate explainable advisory scores and reports. - Implement privacy protection and asynchronous processing. - Develop an evaluation framework for analysis quality. Milestone 3 - User Interfaces - Develop approximately eight screens for instructors, students, and administrators. - Build submission reports, class overview, and messaging features. - Implement student self-check and response workflows. - Create a lightweight administration interface.
