About Us We are a small software development agency that builds and maintains production SaaS products and custom web applications for B2B clients (mostly in the US and Europe). Our projects typically involve multi-tenant SaaS platforms, internal tools, and customer-facing web applications with real user traffic. We are looking for an experienced Senior Full-Stack Engineer based in the US to provide high-leverage technical guidance on active projects. This is a flexible, part-time consulting role — not a full-time job. Tech Stack You’ll Work With Most of our current projects use the following stack: - Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript, Next.js (App Router), Tailwind CSS, React Query / TanStack Query - Backend: Python (FastAPI or Django), REST APIs - Database: PostgreSQL, Redis - Infrastructure: AWS (ECS/Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, API Gateway), Docker, GitHub Actions - Other: Auth0 or Clerk, Stripe, background jobs (Celery / RQ), Terraform (basic) You don’t need deep expertise in every single tool, but you should be comfortable reviewing and advising on systems built with modern Python backends and AWS infrastructure. What You’ll Actually Do - Review architecture decisions and PRDs for new features or modules before implementation begins - Perform targeted code reviews on critical paths (auth, multi-tenancy, payment flows, data models, API design) - Join technical design discussions (usually 1–2 hours) and give clear recommendations - Help diagnose and propose fixes for production issues (performance, scaling, data consistency, security) - Review database schema changes, indexing strategy, and migration plans - Advise on AWS cost, performance, and reliability improvements - Provide written technical feedback and implementation notes that the internal team can act on - Occasionally help interview or evaluate technical candidates when needed You will not be writing large amounts of production code yourself. The focus is on guidance, risk reduction, and raising the technical bar of the team. Requirements - 8+ years of professional software engineering experience - Strong production experience with Python (FastAPI or Django) and React - Solid understanding of software architecture, API design, relational databases, and AWS - Experience shipping and maintaining real SaaS or multi-tenant products - Ability to explain trade-offs clearly in writing and in meetings - Comfortable working asynchronously with a remote team - Good written and spoken English - Flexible availability for occasional meetings (usually scheduled a few days in advance) Nice to Have - Previous experience as a Tech Lead or Staff/Senior Engineer - Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Celery, or Next.js App Router - Experience with multi-tenancy patterns, background job systems, or payment integrations (Stripe) - Background working with distributed/remote engineering teams - Familiarity with Terraform or AWS infrastructure-as-code Schedule & Compensation - Fully remote, hourly rate: **$90 USD/hour** - No fixed weekly hours and no minimum commitment - Typical engagement: 4–12 hours per week depending on project needs (some weeks lighter, some heavier) - Work is scheduled based on project milestones; we share context and documents in advance whenever possible - Long-term relationship preferred if the collaboration works well How to Apply Send a short introduction that includes: 1. A brief overview of your software engineering background (especially relevant SaaS, Python, or AWS experience) 2. Your main areas of technical strength 3. Your general availability (time zone and typical weekly capacity) Please keep it concise. We value clear communication.
