Budget: - HOURLY / FULL_TIME ⭐ 4.67 (31) Australia

nest.js, node.js, react-native

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience: Expert
We’re Bunchups, a social app (live on the App Store and Google Play) that helps people meet nearby. We’re a small team, and we’re changing how the app is built and maintained. We need an experienced React Native developer to act as our reviewer and backup. The role - Review code changes (pull requests) a few hours a week, mainly where they touch login, payments and user data. - Help set up and guide a safe release process (staging build, checklist, TestFlight and Play internal testing). - Be our backup for urgent fixes if something breaks in production. - Some of the code will be written with AI tools such as Claude Code. You’ll need to review the code and fix any issues you find. This is not a full-time build role. Expect roughly 4 to 8 hours a week at first, with room to grow if it works well. Our stack - Mobile: React Native (iOS and Android) - Backend: Node.js with NestJS - Database: MySQL on AWS RDS Aurora - Infrastructure: AWS Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFront, S3, CloudWatch - Chat: Stream (getstream.io) You should have - Shipped React Native apps to both stores, including handling App Store review - Strong Node.js/NestJS and MySQL experience - AWS experience, especially Elastic Beanstalk and RDS - Experience reviewing other people’s (and AI-generated) code - Good written English and some overlap with Melbourne hours (AEDT) - Subscription and in-app payment experience is a strong plus Nice to have: Fastlane or EAS builds, CI with GitHub Actions, Sentry or Crashlytics. To apply, please answer these in your first message: - Describe the last React Native app you shipped to both stores. What was your part, and what went wrong? - How do you check whether AI-written code is safe to merge? What do you look at first? - Have you built subscriptions or in-app purchases in a live app? Which tools did you use? - How many hours a week can you commit, and what is your hourly rate in USD? - Which hours can you cover for Melbourne time? Applications that don’t answer these will not be considered.
