Senior Search Infrastructure & Backend Performance Engineer API Search Optimization

We are looking for an experienced Search Infrastructure and Backend Performance Engineer to optimize the search functionality of our existing application. Our application searches the web through external search APIs, and we want to significantly improve its search performance, accuracy, and scalability. The main goal is to make searches as fast and accurate as possible while ensuring the application can handle high traffic and large numbers of concurrent users without performance degradation. Key Objectives: 1. Search Speed & Efficiency Significantly reduce search response times. Optimize search API requests and search pipelines. Improve query execution, concurrency, and request processing. Minimize unnecessary API calls without sacrificing search coverage or accuracy. Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks. 2. Search Accuracy & Quality Improve the relevance and accuracy of search results. Optimize search queries to retrieve the most relevant results. Reduce irrelevant results and improve result consistency. Maintain high search coverage while improving speed. 3. High-Traffic Scalability Ensure the application can handle large numbers of simultaneous users and search requests. Optimize backend infrastructure for high concurrency and throughput. Improve resource utilization and system reliability under heavy traffic. Identify and resolve scalability limitations. Required Experience: Search infrastructure and search API optimization. High-performance backend engineering. Distributed systems and concurrent request processing. Search pipelines and information retrieval. API performance optimization. Load testing, profiling, and bottleneck analysis. Experience with high-traffic production applications. Important: This is an existing application. We are not looking to build a new application or search engine from scratch. We need an expert who can analyze our current implementation, identify its limitations, and significantly improve its performance, accuracy, and scalability.
