We are seeking an experienced software developer or development company to build a customized, cloud-based retail management application similar to Shopify. The system will support one company with multiple store locations. Required features include: Point-of-sale and sales management Product and inventory management by location Employee clock-in and clock-out Integration with physical time-clock machines Automatic calculation and division of employee commissions Custom commission percentages by store, employee, or position Employee scheduling and attendance tracking Role-based access for employees, supervisors, managers, regional managers, accounting, and executive management Control over which sales and financial reports each user can view Time-limited access to sales information—for example, employees may only see the current day while managers may see weekly or monthly results Daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports by location Reports showing top-selling and least-selling products Sales rankings for all locations Expense tracking, including rent, salaries, utilities, commissions, and other operating expenses Allow authorized employees to record cash payouts from the register Require employees to state the purpose, amount, date, location, and person receiving each payout Allow employees to upload a receipt or supporting document for each payout Require manager approval for payouts above a specified amount Automatically deduct register payouts from the expected cash balance Maintain a complete payout history showing who entered, approved, edited, or canceled each transaction Include payouts in daily register-closing and expense reports Supplier and purchase-order management Recording purchases, invoices, payments, and outstanding supplier balances Receiving and transferring inventory between locations Profit-and-loss reporting by location Secure storage of salary and confidential financial information Email or mobile notifications for important reports and approvals Mobile, tablet, and desktop access Strong security, activity logs, backups, and permission controls The developer should have experience building retail POS, inventory, payroll, accounting, commission, and multi-location management systems. Experience integrating time clocks, QuickBooks, payment processors, Shopify, Lightspeed, or similar platforms is preferred.
