Python Browser Automation & Web Security Troubleshooting Specialist (Kasada / Akamai) Project Type: Technical Consulting & Troubleshooting Engagement: Hourly / Ongoing Support Experience Level: Expert Project Overview We are an Australian technology company seeking an experienced Python developer and web security specialist to provide technical support, troubleshooting and architectural advice for an existing browser automation application. Our Python application uses browser automation, proxy services and asynchronous processing to interact with publicly accessible web platforms. We are experiencing intermittent HTTP 403/429 responses, browser session instability and connectivity issues when interacting with websites that may use advanced security technologies, including Kasada and Akamai. We require a specialist who understands these technologies and can help diagnose the underlying causes, improve application stability, optimise infrastructure and advise on reliable, compliant approaches to automated web interaction. This is an existing Python application, not a new application development project. Required Technical Expertise We are particularly interested in candidates with hands-on experience in: 1. Kasada & Akamai Security Technologies Strong understanding of Kasada and Akamai Bot Manager. Browser fingerprinting and device identification mechanisms. HTTP 403/429 responses, rate limiting and security challenges. Browser and network security telemetry. Troubleshooting session validation and request rejection. 2. Python Browser Automation Advanced Python 3 development. Pydoll browser automation framework. Playwright, Selenium or similar frameworks. Chrome, Firefox and Chromium-based browsers. Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP). Browser lifecycle management and troubleshooting. 3. Browser Sessions & Fingerprinting Browser fingerprint analysis and diagnostics. Cookies, session tokens, local storage and browser profiles. Canvas, WebGL and JavaScript environment characteristics. Browser consistency and session management. Identifying differences between automated and standard browser environments. 4. Proxy & Network Infrastructure Residential, ISP and datacenter proxy infrastructure. Experience with providers such as Geonode, Bright Data, Oxylabs or equivalent. Proxy connectivity, session management and performance monitoring. HTTP/2, TLS and network fingerprint analysis. Diagnosing network-level access restrictions. 5. Python Performance & Reliability Python asyncio and asynchronous task management. HTTP request handling using curl_cffi or equivalent. WebSocket stability and connection lifecycle management. Retry logic, backoff and rate-limit handling. Error classification, structured logging and performance optimisation. Scope of Work The successful candidate will initially undertake a technical review of our existing Python application and associated logs. Key responsibilities include: Review the current Python application architecture and browser automation workflow. Investigate the root causes of HTTP 403/429 responses and browser session failures. Assess browser fingerprint characteristics, cookies and session-management behaviour. Review proxy infrastructure and advise on provider suitability and reliability. Diagnose Python asyncio, WebSocket and browser restart issues. Recommend improvements to browser lifecycle management, retry logic and error recovery. Provide architectural advice on supporting Chrome, Firefox and Vivaldi through a shared Python application. Assist with implementing approved stability and performance improvements. Recommend monitoring, reporting and diagnostic tools to measure application reliability. Document findings and provide practical technical recommendations. All recommendations should respect applicable website access policies, rate limits and security controls. Initial Deliverables We would like the first engagement to produce: A technical assessment of the current Python application. An explanation of the most likely causes of the observed failures. A prioritised improvement plan. Recommended Python code changes. Advice on suitable browser automation and proxy infrastructure. A proposed monitoring and error-reporting framework. Implementation support where required. Ideal Candidate We are seeking someone who has practical experience diagnosing real-world browser automation and anti-bot security issues, rather than someone with general Python development experience alone. Prior experience with Kasada, Akamai Bot Manager, browser fingerprint analysis or enterprise web security diagnostics is highly desirable. We value clear communication, practical troubleshooting and the ability to explain technical findings. Questions for Applicants Please briefly answer the following: Have you worked with websites protected by Kasada or Akamai? Please describe your experience. Have you worked with Pydoll, Playwright or Chrome DevTools Protocol? How would you approach investigating recurring HTTP 429 errors in a Python browser automation application? What experience do you have troubleshooting browser fingerprints, session cookies and proxy-related connectivity problems? Are you comfortable reviewing an existing Python application and providing ongoing technical support? Please only apply if you have relevant hands-on experience. We are looking for a technical specialist rather than a general-purpose Python developer.
