WordPress & WooCommerce Developer – Custom Frontend Integration & E-commerce Setup

PROJECT OVERVIEW: We are looking for an experienced WordPress and WooCommerce developer to build an e-commerce website targeting the U.S. market. Our frontend is currently under development and will be provided as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and static assets. We need a developer to integrate it into WordPress + WooCommerce, implement the required e-commerce functionality and third-party integrations, and handle testing and deployment. Our products are vape devices. Experience with age-restricted or regulated product e-commerce is preferred. We prefer using reliable existing WooCommerce features and plugins wherever possible, with custom development only when necessary. SCOPE OF WORK 1. WordPress & WooCommerce Setup - Set up WordPress and WooCommerce. - Configure product management, customer accounts, shopping cart, checkout, and order management. - Set up inventory management, discount codes/coupons, and basic promotions. 2. Custom Frontend Integration - Integrate our existing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript into WordPress. - Reuse existing code wherever feasible rather than rebuilding the frontend from scratch. - Ensure responsive layouts and connect frontend elements to WooCommerce functionality. 3. Third-party Integrations - Payment Gateway: Integrate GOAT Payments with WooCommerce. Assess whether an existing plugin or custom API integration is required, including payment status updates and refund handling. Confirm merchant and product-category eligibility. - QuickBooks: Integrate WooCommerce with QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks Online if suitable. Evaluate the best approach for syncing orders, customers, products, payments, refunds, and tax information. Assess whether inventory should be managed through QuickBooks or WooCommerce. - U.S. Sales Tax: Configure automated tax calculation based on applicable U.S. jurisdictions and product tax rules, with tax amounts displayed at checkout and properly recorded in QuickBooks. - Store Locator: Implement a store locator that allows customers to search U.S. retail locations by ZIP code or city and view nearby stores on a map. 4. Testing & Deployment - Recommend and configure suitable hosting. - Test website functionality, mobile responsiveness, checkout, payment processing, and third-party integrations. - Fix issues and provide source files, documentation, and administrative access upon completion. *Note: Tax filing and remittance are outside the development scope.* REQUIRED EXPERIENCE - Proven experience with WordPress and WooCommerce development. - Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Experience with third-party integrations and APIs. - Experience with U.S. e-commerce projects is preferred.
