Workato Integration Engineer

Company: Musketeers Tech Location: Remote (Pakistan) — Lahore / Islamabad / Karachi Type: Full-time Openings: 3 Reports to: Delivery Lead, Musketeers Tech Shift: Core overlap with US Eastern Time (minimum 4 hours daily) ABOUT THE ROLE You will own day-to-day support and enhancement of a US enterprise client's integration landscape — spanning Workato and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator — connecting their ERP, CRM, warehouse, EDI trading-partner network, and e-commerce/marketplace systems (Shopify, SAP, and custom applications). This is a run-and-improve role. You keep recipes and business processes healthy, triage failures fast, and build new automations and integrations as the business asks for them. You will work directly with the client's stakeholders and trading partners — not behind a layer of account management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design, develop, and maintain Workato recipes for enterprise application integration and business-process automation across Shopify, SAP, marketplaces, and custom applications, using REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integration patterns Develop, configure, and maintain IBM Sterling B2B Integrator business processes using BPML/ GPM, including EDI workflows, data transformations, routing, and partner integrations Design, develop, and maintain EDI maps using IBM Sterling Integrator, supporting data mapping, transformation, validation, and processing requirements Monitor, triage, and resolve recipe failures across production Workato environments Troubleshoot and resolve failed EDI transactions, Workato job failures, API errors, and file-transfer issues, performing detailed root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions Manage connections, on-prem agents, and environment promotion (dev → test → prod) Own recipe versioning, change control, and deployment hygiene Build custom connectors using the Workato Connector SDK where standard connectors fall short Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, customers, and trading partners to gather integration requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure successful end-to-end implementation Create and maintain technical specifications, data-mapping documents, integration design documents, process flows, runbooks, integration inventories, and troubleshooting playbooks Handle incident communication and root-cause writeups for client stakeholders REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS Workato: Recipes, connectors, triggers, API Platform, error handling, transformations, custom connectors IBM Sterling: Sterling B2B Integrator, BPML, GPM, mailboxes, adapters, services EDI: X12, EDIFACT, XML, JSON, CSV, flat files Protocols: SFTP, FTP, AS2, HTTPS, VAN APIs: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, OAuth 2.0, webhooks, pagination, rate limiting, idempotency Databases: SQL, DB2, or other relational databases; relational data modelling Scripting: JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or Shell scripting Communication: Clear written and spoken English — this is a client-facing role PREFERRED EXPERIENCE 5+ years of enterprise integration experience 3+ years of hands-on IBM Sterling B2B Integrator experience 2+ years of Workato development experience 2+ years of working with SAP Strong experience with EDI development, trading-partner onboarding, and production support Experience with high-volume integrations and production troubleshooting Workato Automation Pro I / II / III certification Exposure to Salesforce, NetSuite, Snowflake, or Workday Prior experience supporting a US-based enterprise client Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Candidates without direct Workato experience but with deep expertise in a comparable enterprise iPaaS (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, TIBCO, SnapLogic, Celigo) will be considered, with a commitment to certify on Workato within the first 60 days.
