Frontend Developer – UX/UI Improvements for Coupon & Deals Website

We are looking for an experienced frontend developer to improve specific pages and UX/UI elements of existing, live website. This is an affiliate marketing (coupon) website, and the URL will be provided to interested candidates. This is not a full website redesign or rebuild. The work will focus on targeted improvements to existing elements. In the first part of the job, you will need to get familiar with the code and relevant github repo, and help us with some easy changes like removing some graphic elements or moving buttons around, adjusting height of elements, etc. After that, the more complex work will be requested like a rehaul of banner slide or coupon display dialogue (all changes need to be optimized both for desktop and mobile users). If this work is concluded fast and efficiently, we will gladly keep you as long-term frontend support person. The frontend primarily uses HTML, Handlebars, SCSS/Sass, and TypeScript/JavaScript, with a Rust backend. You should already be experienced with these technologies and be able to work with them confidently from the start. You will receive a basic frontend map linking key website pages/features to known repository files and live URLs. The codebase is not fully documented, so you are expected to quickly familiarize yourself with the repository, identify the relevant templates, styles and frontend logic, and start working independently. We're offering an hourly rate with manual hours registration, but we will hire someone who is precise and quick. Technical requirements: - Strong HTML and CSS/SCSS (Sass) - Experience with Handlebars or similar templating systems - JavaScript/TypeScript - Strong responsive/mobile frontend skills - Ability to quickly understand and work within an existing codebase We are looking for someone who is: - Reliable - Efficient and able to work independently - Mindful of agreed deadlines - A clear and proactive communicator As you work, you will also be expected to create and expand the frontend documentation directly in the repository, documenting relevant pages, components and files so the codebase becomes easier to maintain and work with in the future.
