ABOUT EMERO Emero is a Norwegian distributor of industrial parts and components, serving B2B customers — workshops, factories, and industrial operators. We have built Emero OS, our internal CRM and operations platform, from the ground up with internal resources on a modern web stack, tightly integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (our ERP and financial source of truth). We are also building an internal agent stack based on Eve from Vercel. The goal is for agents to automate repetitive work and help everyone work faster and with higher quality. The CRM has been built at high speed with heavy use of AI tools, and we now need help from someone experienced to make it fully production ready. There is plenty ahead too: an internal mobile app, more operational tools, a new B2B e-commerce solution. So this role is about taking the platform further with us across many fronts. THE ROLE You will join as a hands-on full-stack developer working with features, refactoring, testing, and polish. You will work in close, direct contact with our CEO to shape and drive the work forward quickly and with high quality. We expect you to work in a structured way and take ownership of progress. Both independent freelancers and agencies are welcome to apply. Typical work includes: - Building and extending CRM features in Next.js 16 (App Router) with React Server Components — pages, server actions, and API routes - UI work with shadcn/ui + Tailwind CSS against an established design system - Data-layer work with Drizzle ORM on Neon (serverless Postgres) — queries, server-side pagination/filtering/sorting patterns, and schema migrations - Working with our Business Central integration from the web side: consuming synced mirror tables and API routes (no AL/BC development required — that side is handled in-house) - Features on our AI agent platform (Vercel AI SDK + Eve, Vercel's durable agent framework): tools, chat UX, evals, and rolling agents out into the business - Improving our agentic development setup — configuring AI coding agents, review pipelines, and quality gates so agents can do real work and real reviews, like a software machine - Writing tests (Vitest, Playwright) and keeping our quality gates green OUR STACK - Frontend/framework: Next.js 16 (App Router, RSC), TypeScript, shadcn/ui, Tailwind CSS - Data: Neon (serverless Postgres) via Drizzle ORM, per-PR database branching - Auth: Auth.js with Microsoft Entra ID (SSO) - AI: Vercel AI SDK + AI Gateway, Eve (durable agent framework) - Infra: Vercel (preview deployments per PR), Turborepo + pnpm monorepo, GitHub Actions CI - Integration: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (webhooks + durable sync workflows) HOW WE WORK Everything ships through small pull requests with CI and preview deployments. Communication is mostly written and asynchronous, with short, frequent standups to keep momentum — you get quick answers and quick reviews from us, and we expect the same back. We develop AI-native: the repo is set up with agent tooling and conventions so AI does real work here. Use AI to move fast, but never trust it blindly — know when to write code yourself, and review everything before it merges. Decisions and conventions are written down. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Must have: - Professional web development experience, with strong TypeScript skills - Solid, recent experience with Next.js App Router and React Server Components (not just Pages Router) - Excellent at AI-assisted development: shipping fast with AI coding tools, and setting up pipelines where agents do real work and real code reviews — while knowing the limits: when to write code yourself, and how to verify and review before merging - Understanding of how AI agents are rolled out in a business — we build on Eve, and experience with it or similar agent frameworks is a strong advantage - Business understanding: you grasp how digital solutions strengthen the value proposition for our customers, and how automation and agents make internal work more efficient and higher quality - Experience with business tools — CRM systems or similar (ERP, e-commerce, internal ops platforms): you understand how this class of software is used in a real business, not just how it's built - Breadth over narrow specialization: our roadmap spans CRM, mobile, e-commerce, and agents, so you must be comfortable working across many fields. Knowledge gaps are fine — we can bring in additional freelancers for specialist work — but you help keep all projects flowing and moving forward - Comfortable with relational databases (Postgres) through an ORM, including migrations - Experience integrating with third-party REST APIs (pagination, retries, webhooks) - Disciplined git/PR workflow — small focused branches, clean commits, responsive to code review - Structured and self-driving: able to work independently from written specs, keep momentum, and ensure steady progress - Quick learner - Fluent written and spoken English Nice to have: - Drizzle ORM, Neon, or other serverless Postgres experience - Vercel platform experience (previews, cron, workflows, AI Gateway) - Hands-on experience with Eve or comparable durable agent frameworks - Auth.js / Microsoft Entra ID integration - Playwright and Vitest PRACTICAL DETAILS - Scope: ideally full-time (30+ h/week), but this is not a hard requirement. Strong candidates with solid part-time capacity, and agencies that can staff the work, are welcome too - A real possibility of a long-term engagement if we're a good match — we're looking for someone who wants a steady, stable volume of work over time - Fully remote. We work async, so full time-zone overlap is not needed - Start: as soon as possible - Please state your rate in your proposal. We're a price-conscious company and we optimize for value for money — in return we offer stable, long-term work OUR HIRING PROCESS 1. Video call (30–45 min) — your background, your AI development workflow, and how you think about building for a business 2. Paid trial task (4–8 hours, at your normal rate) — a small, self-contained build task on our stack, plus a code review exercise. This mirrors the actual day-to-day work 3. Contract with a mutual evaluation period — the first weeks run against real backlog tasks with weekly checkpoints, so both sides can confirm the match before committing long-term We believe trial work should always be paid, and we give concrete feedback either way. HOW TO APPLY Send a short introduction (no formal cover letter needed) with: 1. Your GitHub profile or links to code you've written — ideally a Next.js App Router project 2. A few sentences about the most complex thing you've built 3. How you use AI in your development workflow today — tools, agent setups, and how you review AI-produced code before it merges 4. Your availability and rate We review applications continuously and move quickly.
