Senior Python Engineer — AI Agent Integration for a Fintech/Healthcare SaaS Platform

We run a production SaaS platform serving fintech and healthcare clients and need a senior full-stack engineer to help extend it. The stack is Python and Node.js on the backend, Next.js on the frontend, PostgreSQL, and Azure for infrastructure. This is an existing, live codebase — not a greenfield build — so you'd be stepping in, understanding how it works, and improving it without breaking what's already running. The main focus is bringing AI agent capabilities into the product in a way that holds up in production: tool/function calling, RAG pipelines, model routing, context management, and proper observability around all of it. Beyond that, you'd also handle regular full-stack work — maintaining APIs and microservices, some Next.js frontend contributions, Azure deployment and monitoring, CI/CD upkeep, and test coverage with Playwright. Since we handle fintech and healthcare data, security and compliance need to be second nature, not an afterthought. We're looking for 7+ years of full-stack experience, strong Python and Node.js skills, real Azure experience (ideally including Azure AI/ML), and at least one AI or agent feature you've actually shipped and maintained in production — not just prototyped. Regulated-industry experience is a strong plus. This starts as a 20-30 hr/week contract with room to grow into a longer-term engagement.
