Senior WooCommerce / WordPress Developer – Custom E-commerce Build We’re looking for a highly experienced WooCommerce / WordPress developer to build a retail footwear e-commerce website from scratch. This is not a basic WooCommerce setup. The store will include approximately 50 core products and 250+ product variants, along with custom purchasing flows, product bundles, discounting, integrations and backend workflows. Figma designs will be provided. We need someone who can take those designs and turn them into a fast, scalable and well-built e-commerce platform. Scope of Work You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of the WooCommerce website, including: - Building the website from scratch using WordPress and WooCommerce - Translating supplied Figma designs accurately into the live site - Setting up approximately 50 products and 250+ product variants - Product variation logic including size, colour and other attributes - Custom product bundle functionality - Bundle discounts and promotional pricing rules - Custom add-to-cart and purchasing flows - Custom checkout flows - Payment gateway integrations - Shipping and order workflow configuration - Customer account functionality - Email and transactional workflows - Integration with third-party email platforms where required - Analytics, tracking and conversion integrations - Responsive development across desktop, tablet and mobile - Performance and page-speed optimisation - Backend architecture that is clean, scalable and maintainable - Testing across products, variants, payments, checkout and order workflows - Ongoing development and technical support after launch What We're Looking For We need someone who is genuinely experienced with complex WooCommerce builds. You should have: - Strong WordPress and WooCommerce development experience - Previously built complete WooCommerce stores from scratch - Strong PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS knowledge - Experience building custom WooCommerce functionality rather than relying entirely on plugins - Strong understanding of WooCommerce hooks, APIs and database structure - Experience working with variable products and large product catalogues - Experience with product bundles and advanced pricing/discount rules - Experience modifying WooCommerce cart and checkout behaviour - Payment gateway integration experience - Experience integrating third-party platforms and APIs - Strong understanding of site speed, caching, security and hosting infrastructure - Ability to work from Figma designs and reproduce them accurately - Ability to write clean, documented and maintainable code - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability Important We are looking for a senior developer who has already completed projects of this complexity. If this would be your first full WooCommerce build, or your experience is primarily installing themes and plugins, this project is probably not the right fit. We want someone who understands both the customer-facing experience and what is happening underneath WooCommerce from a development and infrastructure perspective. Ongoing Work This is not necessarily a one-off build. After launch, we will require ongoing support, improvements, new functionality, optimisation and potentially further integrations as the business grows.
