Notion Expert for OS Completion

A VC firm is hiring, on behalf of one of its portfolio companies (a well-funded consumer eSIM startup, name shared after NDA), a senior Notion expert on a long-running retainer. First sprint is 4–8 hours; after that, a few hours per month to keep the Notion OS growing — with a path to stepping into a "Head of Notion" role. The portfolio company runs a real operational Notion OS (Executive, Strategy, Team, Plan, Develop, Production, Growth, Training, Archives) — used every day. They need a specialist across the functional side (databases, views, buttons, webhooks, third-party integrations, permissions) and the aesthetic / page-design side (coherent, on-brand pages people enjoy using). First sprint — rebuild OS ⟩ Production's Automation & Systems section. The existing "🤖 Automation & Systems" block covers Automations DB, Systems DB, "How it works", Full Workflow, Publishing Controls, and the Content Knowledge Base — but the databases, views, and page design are inconsistent. You will pair with the automations partner (owns the n8n workflows) to overhaul the whole section: clean database schemas, useful views (by system, status, owner, trigger), Notion buttons + webhooks to fire / pause / retry automations from inside Notion, a runbook template per automation, and a coherent visual redesign of the section. Ongoing (monthly retainer). Four themes tracked in the internal Notion Completion card, to be picked up after the first sprint: Stack analysis + workflow replication — reproduce the Executive HQ operating model across the whole stack, wiring in OKRs. Membership & guests — enforce a clean permission model (one full-access account; everyone else is a guest with scoped or no permissions). Production polish — improve staff stacks and database views across the Production hub. 2027 rollout — plan the rollout to a larger team: Loom walkthroughs, 1:1 training, permissions — and step into the "Head of Notion" role for continuity. Remote, async-first, chat-based (direct messaging + Notion). Short intro call + a pairing thread with the automations partner during the first sprint; otherwise no meetings. Contract and payment direct with the portfolio company; the VC coordinates the intro and stays lightly in the loop. Not for you if your Notion work is mostly personal-productivity dashboards, you don't do webhooks / buttons / API-integration work, or you can't tell good Notion page design from bad.
