Job Title: React Developer Needed: Complete & Polish Digital Humanities Web Platform (SGTN) Job Type: Fixed Price — $350 USD Category: Web Development - Front-End Development (or Full-Stack Web Development) Description: We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented React developer to take over, finish, and polish the production build for The Social Geography Travel Network (SGTN)—an open-access digital humanities and qualitative travel platform. The foundation of the project has already been built, and the repository is set up. We are looking for a capable contractor to step in, review the existing codebase, complete the remaining page builds, optimize layout and mobile responsiveness, and push the final site live. We need your help completing the remaining pages, wiring forms, and executing mobile UX optimizations.) What Has Been Completed So Far: Core repository and baseline project setup established. Live domain and primary staging pathways configured. Integration of primary branding assets (logos, editorial color palette, typography). Initial Markdown content integration and component structure for primary scholar tribute pages (Tim Cresswell, Doreen Massey, David Seamon). Key Deliverables & Scope of Work: Code Audit & Component Integration Review existing React codebase and resolve any build issues or broken routes. Finalize the integration of supplied React components and Markdown content across key sections: SGTN Compass / Manifesto page Get Involved / Submissions page Scholar Tribute Pages (Cresswell, Massey, Seamon framework layouts) Academic Circle & About pages Form Routing & User Interactions Verify and test all user contribution pathways (Field Note submissions and contact forms). Ensure form validation, success/error states, and email routing/webhooks are functioning smoothly. UI/UX Polish & Mobile Responsiveness Perform cross-browser and mobile viewport testing. Fine-tune CSS/styling to match design specs (warm earth-tone palette, editorial typography, clean card/table layouts). Fix alignment, padding, or layout bugs on mobile and tablet screens. SEO, Performance & Final Handoff Add page-level SEO metadata (OpenGraph tags, page titles, meta descriptions). Optimize asset compression and image loading speed. Complete final production launch check and hand off a clean Git repository.
