Senior Next.js Architect – Independent Code Review & Production Readiness Assessment

My client is preparing to launch a newly developed Next.js website to replace our existing production website, using content from the current production site. Before the new website is released, we are seeking an experienced senior Next.js architect/consultant to independently review the actual codebase and implementation and determine whether it is technically sound and production-ready. This is not primarily a development engagement and not simply a documentation review. The consultant will be given access to the source repository, technical documentation, the current development website, and the existing production website. We want an independent senior-level assessment of what has been built, what should be corrected or improved before launch, and whether the implementation follows appropriate production standards for a modern enterprise website. Primary Review Areas The review should include: • Next.js architecture and implementation • React and TypeScript code quality • App Router and rendering strategy • Component architecture and maintainability • WordPress REST API and ACF integration • CMS/content architecture and production source-of-truth strategy • Caching and revalidation • Performance and Core Web Vitals • Image/video and asset optimization • Security and production hardening • HubSpot forms and CAPTCHA implementation • Error handling and monitoring • SEO migration from the existing website • URLs, redirects, canonical URLs, metadata, sitemap and robots • Blog, News and dynamic content implementation • Broken/missing assets, links or incomplete functionality • Third-party dependencies and integrations • Mobile and cross-browser considerations • Any unnecessary complexity, technical debt or architectural decisions that should be corrected before production The consultant should independently identify issues rather than simply validate the existing developer documentation or checklist. Required Deliverable We want a concise written assessment containing: 1. Overall Assessment Is the Next.js website architecture and implementation appropriate for production? 2. Must Fix Before Launch Issues that should be corrected before the new website replaces the existing production site. 3. Recommended Improvements Important improvements that are advisable but do not necessarily need to block launch. 4. Technical/Architectural Concerns Any design decisions that could create future performance, scalability, security or maintainability problems. 5. Production Readiness Recommendation Provide a clear recommendation: GO – Ready for production GO WITH REMEDIATION – Production is reasonable after specified issues are corrected NO-GO – Significant issues should be resolved before launch For each significant issue, please identify the reason, recommended remediation and approximate level of effort. Experience Required We are specifically looking for someone with senior-level experience reviewing and deploying production Next.js websites. Please describe: • Your experience with Next.js App Router and modern Next.js production applications • Your experience integrating Next.js with WordPress/ACF • Examples of production code or architecture reviews you have performed • Your experience with website migrations where SEO/URL equity needed to be preserved • Your proposed approach to this review • Estimated hours and fixed fee or hourly rate Please do not apply if your experience is primarily WordPress development without substantial production Next.js architecture experience. Experience with Sentry, headless WordPress, HubSpot APIs, AWS, cybersecurity, or enterprise software is a plus. Important Please do not apply if your primary experience is WordPress themes, Elementor, page builders, or website design. We need a software developer who is comfortable debugging and modifying existing application code. When Applying Please include: 1.
