# PHP Website Security Audit, Upgrade and Maintenance ## Project overview We are looking for an experienced PHP developer to maintain and secure our company's existing website, hosted on GoDaddy shared hosting with cPanel. The website appears to be a custom PHP application. We need a safe security review, a compatible upgrade plan and training for our non-technical team. ## Scope of work ### Milestone 1: Backup and security audit - Review the existing PHP application and hosting configuration. - Back up the website files and database, and verify that recovery is possible. - Verify the applicable security patches and document the findings. - Provide a written report with recommendations. ### Milestone 2: Security remediation and PHP upgrade - Test compatibility before making changes to the live website. - Coordinate with the hosting provider where required. - Apply approved security fixes and perform the upgrade only after our approval. - Test important pages, forms, navigation, images and existing functionality. ### Milestone 3: Maintenance training - Teach our team to update page text, product information, images and contact details. - Identify the correct files or content-management method for common changes. - Provide simple written instructions. - Demonstrate one small content update safely. ## Required skills - PHP development and legacy application maintenance - PHP upgrades and compatibility testing - GoDaddy cPanel or equivalent shared hosting - Website security and vulnerability remediation - HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MySQL/MariaDB, where applicable - Backup and recovery procedures
