Senior React Developer — Frontend Refactor & UX/UI Refinement We’re looking for a senior React developer to complete a focused 1–2 month refactor and refinement of our existing frontend. Our product is already live and has active users. Approximately 70% of the UX/UI is complete, so this is not a ground-up redesign. The core product, user flows, and visual direction already exist. We need someone with strong engineering skills and exceptional product taste to refine the remaining experience—particularly its graphics, visual consistency, layouts, responsiveness, and microinteractions—and bring the frontend to a polished, production-quality standard. Project Scope - Refactor and improve the existing React frontend - Strengthen the frontend architecture and supporting infrastructure - Standardise and refine our shadcn/ui components - Improve component reusability and maintainability - Refine existing layouts, spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy - Improve graphics and visual assets throughout the product - Fix inconsistencies between screens, components, and user flows - Improve the experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile - Add polished animations, transitions, and microinteractions - Improve loading, empty, error, success, and edge-case states - Resolve frontend bugs without disrupting existing users - Improve accessibility and perceived performance - Collaborate with our existing developer - Complete thorough QA before releases and handover Because the product already has users, changes must be thoughtful, stable, and implemented without unnecessarily disrupting established workflows. What We’re Looking For - Senior-level experience with React - Strong experience with shadcn/ui and modern frontend architecture - Exceptional UX/UI judgement and attention to detail - A strong eye for graphics, consistency, layout, spacing, and typography - Experience improving live products with active users - Experience refactoring existing codebases safely - Strong understanding of responsive design and accessibility - Experience creating tasteful animations and microinteractions - Ability to recognise and resolve design inconsistencies independently - Clear communication and reliable progress updates - Willingness to collaborate closely with our existing developer We’re looking for someone who combines senior engineering ability with refined visual and product judgement. You should be able to take an experience that is already 70% complete and elevate the remaining 30% without attempting to redesign everything from scratch.
